This year our programme features a fine selection of artists presented with local partners Tête à Tête, Performing Rights Society Foundation, Tileyard Music, The Roundhouse, Spiritland and classical music curator Anthony Whitworth-Jones.

Cubitt Sessions includes a specially curated series of classical delights featuring the superb London Brass, a world-class classical recital from Alexander Ullman and an evening courtesy of young singers from English National Opera.

King’s Cross favourites Tête à Tête opera return to celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a selection of quirky and wonderful modern shows programmed by Bill Bankes-Jones. In addition, on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 August the Devoted and Disgruntled Opera Conference will be held in N1C.

Come along and join us for a musical treat this Summer.

We are proud to be working closely with King’s Cross on Cubitt Sessions as it is so well-aligned with our ethos here at Tileyard, namely that of collaboration. It ’s our reason for being and we can’t wait to showcase some of the music talent that is being incubated just up the road. Community is absolutely key for us and we are so pleased that this spreads beyond our campus.

Jon has been creating his artistic oddities since 2000.

Origami, spoon bending, magic chalk, tea making, deadpan comedy, a dusting of audience participation and dexterously executed outsized artworks, all to a killer soundtrack.

As a performer Jon has travelled the world, this is his flagship “street” show.

Dynamic, funny, enthralling, stylish, and astounding.

Seeing is unbelieving.

TÊTE À TÊTE PRESENTS: AYANNA WITTER-JOHNSON, PREVIEWING MATERIAL FROM DEBUT ALBUM DUE FOR RELEASE IN OCTOBER 2017

Singer, songwriter, cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson is a rare exception to the rule that classical and contemporary music cannot successfully co-exist. Graduating with a first from the Trinity Laban and the Manhattan School of Music, she has toured with Anoushka Shankar, Courtney Pine, recorded with Akala and composed for the London Symphony Orchestra. The twist is her winning the acclaimed amateur night at the Apollo in Harlem, gaining a MOBO award nomination and getting airplay on BBC Radio 1 & BBC 1Xtra. Able to straddle both worlds effortlessly because of her musical prowess, non-compromising lyrics and ability to deftly reinterpret songs on the cello. She is the definition of eclectic soul.
