Subject: Rejection of the candidature of candidates for the post of AssistantProfessor, Information Technology in Higher Education Department.

Notice

Dated: 07 .08.2018

Whereas, the Higher Education Department vide communication No.Edu/Coll/apptt/A.P/2014 dated 19.05.2014, referred 12 posts (OM=06, RBA=03, ST=01,SC=01 & ALC=01) of Assistant Professor, Information Technology in Higher EducationDepartment to the J&K Public Service Commission for being filled up through directrecruitment from amongst the eligible/suitable candidates.

whereas, the J&K Public Service Commission, vide Notification No. 12-PSC (DR-P) of2014 dated 29.05.2014 invited applications on prescribed format from the permanentresidents of Jammu & Kashmir possessing the prescribed qualification.

whereas, in response to the above said Notification, the Commission has received189 applications in the said discipline; and

whereas, in pursuance of Rule 40 of J&K Public Service Commission (Business &

Procedure) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time, the shortlisting of candidates has

been made as per following method:-

"Where the number of applicants for post upto 100 is 350 or less, the short

listing shall be done in the proportion indicated in the sub joined table on

the basis of:-

i. Percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination; and

ii. Higher qualification, if any, in the relevant subject

i. For 1-5 post Five times the number of postsii. For 6-10 posts Four times the number of posts subject to

a minimum of 25

iii. For 11-100 posts Three time subject to a minimum of 40

Whereas, following method has been adopted for short listing thecandidates for interview for the post of Assistant Professor, InformationTechnology:-

i. Weightage given to basic qualification out of =90 points

ii. Weightage given to first higher qualification =04 pointsiii. Weightage given to first second Higher Qualification = 06 points

Total = 100 points

whereas, as per above rule position, the category-wise breakup ofcandidates shortlisted along-with last cut of merit is given as under:-
