The 99 Experience Tuesday, March 10, 11 & 12, 2020 6:00PM |Holy Spirit Catholic Church |Msgr. Logan Hall “At a time in our world when many are interested in ‘spiritualityʼ and finding meaning and purpose in life, why do we feel hindered or afraid to talk about God even with those close to us? Thatʼs where The 99 comes in,” says Mark Hart, author of The 99. The 99 Experience is a personal or self-evangelization mission. It is designed for people of all ages to hear - or re-hear - the basics of the Gospel message. But, more importantly, to be able to process and pray about how God has been reaching out to them in their life and how He seeks to be in a relationship with them again. The three components of “the 99” are specifically created for those souls who may think theyʼre part of the 99. They may think that theyʼre part of the Church, but the more we start to examine and realize that weʼre, rather, constantly the one thatʼs running, constantly the one with the ups and downs of life, who are “the lamb.” The idea behind “the 99” is to acknowledge where we are at and to slow down long enough to allow God to get those arms around us again. Most of the time, we may not really feel we need to be evangelized. We may look around and say, “Iʼm not perfect, but at least Iʼm going to church.” The gospel is clear: Weʼre being called to constant, daily conversion. God is not calling us to a one-time conversion, but often times as Catholics, we sometimes can go through the motions and show up for Mass physically, but miss out mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Going to church does not make saints - the same way that just sitting in the garage does not make me a mechanic. We must be docile to the Spirit and put ourselves in line with Godʼs will. “The 99.” It really is designed to help not just a person or a family but an entire parish: To engage those who have left the Church, to re-engage those who come but might need to go deeper, or to re-establish a deep relationship with the Lord and with the parish. Please join us for 3 evenings during Lent for The 99 Experience There is no cost to attend, but please call the Religious Education Office to register.

Suggested Guidelines for Mass during the Flu/Cold Season

⦁Do Not come to Mass if you have flu like symptoms. ⦁Do Not bring children to Mass that have flu like symptoms or are ill. ⦁Do Not shake hands with others if you have a scratchy throat, sniffles, coughing or sneezing. ⦁Do Not touch your face or mouth without first washing your hands. ⦁Wash your hands well with hot water and soap before and after Mass. ⦁When you canʼt wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer with at least 62% alcohol. ⦁Get your flu shot, get plenty of rest, eat a balanced diet, drink water and exercise. Use these guidelines for all events of your daily living and be well. Godʼs people should remember that they are excused from attending Mass if: (a) they are ill with the flu or have reason to believe that they have flu like symptoms; (b) must stay home to care for a family member who is ill; or (c) they reasonably fear they will spread a flu virus.
