Grid 40

Quantum 3 was designed by two

industry insiders, who where tired

of big catalogues with uncountable

profi le variations, multiple connection

techniques, excessive drilling and

cutting and diffi cult assembly.

THE BRIEF Lean.

Quantum 3 is lean with only nine

Aluminium profi les.

Grid 40 is used in day-to-day applications like

guards, furniture, partitions and standard

frames with grid 50 mainly utilized

for heavy machine frames and

structural applications.

Simple.

Quantum 3 is simple with one T-nut

size fi tting all profi les.

The 14 mm wide groove allows Allen key

access to the screws of the connectors and to

actually tighten them without the need of special

tools.

The spring ensures that the T-nut can be

inserted at any stage of the assembly

process and will stay in position.

Strong.

Quantum 3 is strong with threads

cold formed into profi le bars instead

of cut.

Cold-formed threads are widely recognised

to be superior to cut threads. The process is over

100 years old and the advantages are clear,

no swarf, increased tool life and stronger

threads through homogeneous

material distribution.

Attractive.

Quantum 3 is attractive with its

sleek connector fi nishes.

The standard connectors are available in

three fi nishes: Matt chrome plated, KTL dipped

or Zinc plated. Take your pick.

Additionally all profi le outside radii were kept

small to achieve a pleasing aesthetic

design which also guarantees no

gap between profi les when put

together.

Versatile.

Quantum 3 is versatile due

to the easy to fi t slot cover.

The hard PVC slot cover provides

an economical solution to make up any

closed profi le. By just stocking PAS

40 and PPC 14 you can generate

4 different profi les.

Economical and easy

to use.

Quantum 3 is economical and easy to

use with one dedicated connector pro grid

size. This makes it easy for the designer and the

fi tter. No big question marks or considerations which

connector to use or what the application is.

The design of the connector allows moving

profi le bars into their fi nal position at

the end of the assembly process.

Surface treatment

All Quantum3 profi les are chemically etched to DIN 16711 E6. This will leave the extruded profi le with

a silk matt or matt surface. Mechanical surface blemishes will be evened out, but not removed.

All Quantum3 profi les are natural (EURAS C0) anodized and therefore resistant to scratching and

corrosion.

The minimum anodizing thickness layer is 10μm with a layer hardness of 250 to 350 HV. This surface

is alkaline and acid resistant (alkalines to PH 9.5 and acids to PH 4).

The anodizing layer has no electric conductivity.

Dimensional tolerances

Slot width (all profi les): 14 + 0.4mm

Slot depth (all profi les): 14 ± 0.2mm

Profi le width up to 50mm: ± 0.2mm

Profi le width over 50mm: ± 0.3mm

Cutting length tolerance : ± 0.25mm
