Dear Photograph,

Chicago and 1958, this is where my Dad built our home and then we filled it up with love. It’s said you can never go home again but our memories take us there every time. I hope the family living there now enjoys it as much as we did.

Anne

Dear Photograph,I wish I could still have moments, full of love, just like this every night.Love, Magdalena

Dear Photograph,A lot has changed since you left, even after all this time, I’m still not used to coming home and finding you aren’t there…Rob

Dear Photograph,Pretty soon we won’t be able to afford to live in this house anymore, and you will be all that I have left. I don’t know what’s harder…letting go of the house or letting go of the little girl that grew up here.Diane

Dear Photograph,He was a real cowboy right down to the wallet he carried in his boots. Riding horses and roping cattle throughout his battle with cancer. How we wish he didn’t have to ride off into the sunset. Missing him forever.Love, your family

Dear Photograph,Where are the days when I could let myself enjoy the smallest of things with so much ease? I really miss that.Federico

Dear Photograph,If only I could hop on my bike and pedal around town with my mom just for the day. That adventure would be priceless!Sarah

Choose one photo. Write an accompanying text for it from the photo holders’ perspective – why is the picture/person/place important to you? Then, exchange texts and see if your partner can guess which photo you wrote about. Finally, compare your text to the original. Why was the photo really important to the owner?

Dear Photograph,New Year’s resolutions and 30 years gone by…what was that little boy inside of me thinking about so long ago? I hope I never quit chasing that little boy’s dreams. It’s what matters most.Scott

Dear Photograph,

I remember when my Dad taught my niece how to ride her bike. Today she stands tall and this photo is what I now hold close to me. Dad passed away, suddenly, eight weeks ago and Christmas and New Year’s Eve just didn’t shine the same without him here.

Miss you, Yvonne

Dear Photograph,Over 20 years ago my father rode his bike around town at Christmas and made people happy! Today I hopped on my Harley and got the chance to continue this tradition. I got to spread lots of Christmas cheer, posing for photos, handing out Tim Horton’s gift cards and making people smile! Merry Christmas Dad, I’m glad to follow in your footsteps!Jesse

Dear Photograph,You walked, hand in hand, to the chapel sixty three years ago, leaving behind the house grandma grew up in. How could you have known that to this day the  family you started so long ago are so inspired by the love you shared with one another. We miss you Grampy!Leesha

Dear Photograph,Balboa Park… I got engaged here, married here and now I’m alone again. But when I come to sit on these steps once more, I remember my parents had very little, and yet they made our childhood rich with fond memories. That is what keeps smiling.Ronnie

Dear Photograph,I was once as skinny as my clarinet. These days I should be playing a tuba.Eric

Dear Photograph,I’m forever grateful for my sister. She kept me from tumbling downward when my parents divorced. I wish I could go back to beanie babies and the days when finding happiness wasn’t such an upward climb. You saved my life Sissy. Love, Robin
