Monday pgs. 242-243 – TTW guide the students to identify beat, rhythm, and rhyme. TSW mark the beat of the given song. TSW define rhythm, rhyme, and regular beat.

Language pgs. 428-429-TTW guide TS identify and correctly use the spelling pattern.

Tuesday pgs.244-245,248-TTW guide the students to identify and find the rhymes and beat of a poem. TSW answer a short response question.

Wednesday pgs.246-247, 249 - TTW guide the students to identify and find rhyming words in a poem. TSW clap the beats of the poem. TSW answer a short response question.

Thursday pgs.250-255-TSW independently read a poem and answer multiple choice and short response questions about the beat, rhythm, and rhyme of the poem.

Monday - Brain Pop, Measure in Inches and Feet, Also use Activotes to take quiz.

Tuesday – Brain Pop, Measure in Centimeters, Meters, and Kilometers

We will be covering the following pages in the Math Ready Common Core Book Lesson 17.

Opening activity – Hand out ruler, yard sticks, meter sticks, and yard tapes and explain the definition to each object. Explain how to use each measuring tool. Explore how to decide which tool to use for each item you are measuring.

Monday – pgs. 160 – 161 TSW review measuring with a centimeter ruler. Then students learn about different types of measuring tools.

Tuesday – pgs. 162 – 163 TSW compare measuring with inch tiles and measuring with a ruler. TSW complete this problem and use centimeters to measure a key.

Wednesday – pg. 164 - 165 TSW explore measuring with a centimeter ruler and a meter stick. TSW learn how to add ruler lengths to find measures, and compare using a centimeter rule to using a meter stick.

Thursday – pg. 166 – 167 TSW practice measuring objects and answer questions about length and measuring tools. Pgs. 168 – 169 TSW solve measurement problems that might appear on a math test.

Friday – Formal assessment will be given on Lesson 17.Teacher Teacher Center – Remediation/skill building center – TTW pull students out of each

the groups to be able to work one and one on skills for the week and for remediation skills tailored for each group. Skill – Measuring in centimeters and inches.

Center 2 Materials – Rulers – Measuring Dogs in Centimeters and Inches Work Packet.Center 3 Computer Center – Iready Math or ST MathCenter 4 Visual Model: Materials – Linking Cubes and Log Sheet. TSW put cubes in different

lengths by clicking together and then measuring in inches and centimeters.Center 5 Student Lead Activities – Materials – pencil, pink eraser, journal book, crayon, book,

top of desk, student’s pinky and friend’s pinky. TSW measure each item in both centimeters and inches and log their answer on the log sheet.

Homework Monday homework is given to each student. It is due on Friday. The homework will focus on language, reading, and math skills from the lessons taught during the week.
