Welcome and Call to WorshipOpening Prayer

Praise Hymn 81I sing the mighty power of God that made the mountains rise, that spread the flowing seas abroad, and built the lofty skies. I sing the wisdom that ordained the sun to rule the day; the moon shines full at his command and all the stars obey.

I sing the goodness of the Lord that filled the earth with food; he formed the creatures with his word, and then pronounced them good. Lord, how thy wonders are displayed where’er I turn my eye; if I survey the ground I tread, or gaze upon the sky!

There’s not a plant or flower below but makes thy glories known; and clouds arise, and tempests blow, by order from thy throne; while all that borrows life from thee is ever in thy care, and everywhere that man can be, thou, God, art present there.

Leader: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.PEOPLE: AND ALSO WITH YOU.

Leader: Almighty God,PEOPLE: to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of Confession: (said together, kneeling)Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.

Gradual Hymn: Be Still (Psalm 46:10) Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here. Come, bow before him now with reverence and fear. In him no sin is found. We stand on holy ground. Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One is here.

Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around. He burns with holy fire, with splendour he is crowned. How awesome is the sight, our radiant King of Light. Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around.

Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place. He comes to cleanse and heal, to minister his grace. No work too hard for him, in faith receive from him. Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place. [David J. Evans, c. 1986, Thankyou Music; by permission CCLI #459447]

Sermon: Chris Whittaker & James Anok LOFT Community Services

The Apostles' Creed: (said together)I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Offertory Hymn 294Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee; take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love; take my feet, and let them be swift and purposeful for thee.

Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from thee; take my intellect, and use every power as thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine; take my heart, it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne.

Take my love: my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store; take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee.

Sung Prayer over the Gifts:All things come of thee, O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee. Amen.

Prayer over the Gifts:Priest: God our sustainer, accept all we offer you this day, and feed us continually with that bread which satisfies all hunger, your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayer of Consecration

During Communion please maintain a quiet attitude of prayer or join in quietly singing the following hymns. Prayer ministry is offered at the lobby doors during Communion.

On Bended KneeOn bended knee I come, with a humble heart I come, bowing down before Your holy throne. Lifting holy hands to You, as I pledge my love anew, I worship You in spirit, I worship you in truth; make my life a holy praise unto You.

On bended knee we come, with a humble heart we come, bowing down before Your holy throne. Lifting holy hands to You, as we pledge our love anew, we worship You in spirit, we worship you in truth; make our lives a holy praise unto You. Make our lives a holy praise unto You. [Robert Gay, c.1988, Integrity’s Hosanna Music; by permission CCLI #459447]

As The DeerAs the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after You. You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You. You alone are my strength, my shield, to You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You.

I want you more than gold or silver, only You can satisfy. You alone are the real joy-giver, and the apple of my eye. You alone are my strength and shield, to You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You.

You're my Friend and you are my Brother, even though You are a King. I love You more than any other, so much more than anything. You alone are my strength and shield, to You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart's desire and I long to worship You.(Martin Nystrom, c.1983, Restoration Music Ltd., by permission CCLI #459447)

You Are The VineYou are the Vine, we are the branches, keep us abiding in You. (repeat) Then we’ll grow in Your love, then we’ll go in Your name, that the world will surely know that You have power to heal and to save.[Danny Daniels & Randy Rigby; by permission CCLI #459447]

Be Still And Know That I Am GodBe still and know that I am God. [Repeat 3 times]

I am the Lord that healeth thee…

In thee, O Lord, I put my trust…

Be still and know that I am God…

Prayer after Communion:Priest: God of grace, we have shared in the mystery of the body and blood of Christ. May we who have tasted the bread of life live with you for ever. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

People: Glory to God, whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Blessing (followed by sung “Amen”)

Recessional Hymn 802 (Old Blue book)My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name.

REFRAIN: On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.

When clouds and darkness veil his face, I rest on his unchanging grace; in every high and stormy gale my anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, his covenant, his blood, support me in the whelming flood; when all around my soul gives way, he then is all my hope and stay.

When he shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in him be found clothed by his righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne!

Leader: Go forth into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. People: Thanks be to God.
