CHR Statement CHR is a comprehensive provider of community-based behavioral healthcare services. A fundamental part of our mission is to help people live in their community with the appropriate level of care to ensure their recovery and good health. We believe that having a safe place to live is an important part of each person’s health and recovery. CHR helps many of its clients find safe and affordable housing, which can be extremely challenging, especially for people living with disabilities. Unfortunately, there is not adequate housing available in our region, especially for people who live on limited income. We are aware that it can be very challenging when people with disabilities live in elderly housing. CHR’s programs like the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) provide intensive case management and clinical services that are similar to supportive housing services. The team actively helps clients find housing. Once clients are housed, CHR will interact with the landlord or neighbors if problems arise and will attempt to help clients if they are having problems maintaining their home. While many of CHR’s clients with significant disabilities are living in public housing and are doing very well, there are times when problems arise. There are clients who need even higher levels of support which is why CHR is always advocating for more funding and support. Sadly, the state recently eliminated one of the most intensive residential programs for adults. In all, CHR’s staff works diligently to help clients live with dignity, live independently and receive the appropriate levels of support to help them remain in the community and in good health. CHR helps clients to live on their own and advocates for CHR clients to be treated like all other tenants. However, when situations become difficult, CHR cannot force a client to leave that situation and we strive to do everything possible to help clients avoid becoming homeless.

CHR Statement

CHR is a comprehensive provider of community-based behavioral healthcare services.
