The Promised King and His Kingdom.

The lighting of the Kingdom Candle invites us to repent, for the kingdom of God has come near! Gods promise to us, in the new king David. Who will be Immanuel, God with us, has truly come to us, in King Jesus.

According to Michael Card, in The Promise, shepherds were considered such nobodies in New Testament Israel that they were not allowed to testify in a court of law.

-Why do you think that the first eye witnesses that God choses to bring the Good News of Messiah to are such nobodies?

What do you think shows God at His most glorious?

What do you think is mankinds greatest need?

The unfathomable good news of the angels is that Jesus, that baby lying in a feeding trough, is the intersection of God at His most glorious and our greatest need, peace.
