Step by Step guide to create DEFRA account and EHC 8334 application

a. Click start now 2. If you already have a Government Gateway account complete your log in details, otherwise

Create sign in details3. Tick to confirm you have read terms and conditions and select continue4. Tick to select an individual and select continue5. Complete First name and Surname and select continue6. Go to 2. And click on your contact details and complete all fields, then do the same for your

address and your security word a. Should look like this with completed beside each line.

7. Select check your answers a. Account Type INDIVIDUAL b. Your Name (YOUR NAME)c. Your Address (YOUR ADDRESS)d. Your Security Word (YOUR SELECTED WORD AND HINT)

8. Amend as necessary and then select I’m not a robot and continue9. Select I confirm to agree to terms and conditions and select Continue10. Next page should look like this, select continue.

11. Apply for 8334EHC

1. About your application

i. Create a reference number; Use Ponies Name. Click save and continueii. Export Destination; Select Northern Ireland from both drop down points.

Click save and continueiii. About Your certifier: Type “Thrums Vet Group” into the search bar and

search, select Thrums Vet Group, TVG (Angus) Ltd 20 Forfar Rd Kirriemuir DD8 5BY and Click Confirm and continue

2. Information needed ay APHA

i. Where will certification take place? Select Scotland for Regionals or England for Championships as appropriate and then Save and Continue

ii. Who is exporting the product? Exporter Name is Your Name and select save and continue

iii. What is the origin of the product? GB select Save and Continue

iv. What is the planned date of export? (Date leaving the Championships ie. Not necessarily the same as the return ferry)

3. Create your export health certificate

i. Your Reference – Ponies name, Save and Continue

ii. Country of Origin – UK, ISO Code – GB, Save and Continue

iii. Horse details, Description – Equine (Pony/Horse as applicable), Passport number and competent authority (Make sure it’s the passport number and not microchip number, with issuing body eg HSI or SJI Ulster Region or CPBS etc)

iv. Identification System and its site – Transponder in neck

v. Identification Number – Microchip number (NOT passport number please check!)

vi. Date of birth – Date of birth or if just year given use 01/01/YYYY

vii. Sex – select Male (Stallion), Female (Mare), Castrated (Gelding)

viii. Cities Number- Leave blank as n/a

Select Yes if you have another pony travelling and follow the same procedure again, or no I have finished adding certificates, if that’s the only pony travelling with you, and click Continue.

5. Click pt 5. Check your answers and submit application

6. Check all answers and click continue

7. Tick to confirm the information provided is correct to the best of your knowledge and select submit application.
