Lesson 5 – you build up to writing a Diary entry –
Have a go at the spelling test task too as these spellings
derive from rules on the Year 5/6 word list you can access clicking
here.It is important you complete the reading tasks prior to the writing task as you are asked to write a
diary entry based on the first encounter Micheal had with the man
in the garage, This is from a book we would read in Summer term
called Skellig.
PLEASE send these in perhaps make them look authentic and aged as a
fun task to do or word process them in a groovy font. We can then publish
these on our home learning photo tab and give to Mr Duncan for display
back in school! BE CREATVE!

in Tudor times, this week you shall listening to two episodes: poor man’s medicine and privy to the King. These will teach you about Tudor medicine and wellbeing.
This week you shall listen to two radio clips available here and make notes of key points whilst doing so.
Episode one
Key question: ‘What is healthy and unhealthy about King Henry’s
lifestyle?’ Task 1
‘Make a note of all the things that are done to keep King Henry comfortable and well.’. Your job is to create headlines for the front cover of the Tudor Health Magazine. Here are some examples of headlines and sub-headings which have already been created;

During this difficult time we are surrounded by so many courageous people who are putting themselves at risk to help others and the community. E.g. NHS staff, delivery workers, police officers, supermarket workers, rubbish collectors, transport workers……perhaps you can think of more!!Task: Choose a person or organisation in your community and write them a card or letter or create a gift to thank them for their courage. Take a photo and share it with your teacher. Then send it! (With your parent’s permission)
Key question: ‘What did poor people do in the Tudor Era if
they became sick?’Make notes on this question also and use to possibly have a go at the challenge task. Click here for a teachers help sheet and template if you want to use one.
