Open the Word document named Carefree holidays properties and save as Carefree holidays-yourname in a location of your choice. 2. ECDL MODULE 3Word Processing

Task 5

IMPORTANT – Steps 1 to 10 below are to revise work carried out for previous tasks.

Section 1

1. Open the Word document named Carefree holidays properties and save as Carefree holidays-yourname in a location of your choice.

And replace with the following paragraph:Within the next few weeks your allocated personal adviser, , will get in touch with you to follow up your enquiry.

The empty space between the two commas will later on contain a merge field. Save the work

11. You are now going to carry out a mail merge letter using the existing document as your main document. Use the suitable tool to set up this operation.

12. Use the file named Exhibition list.docx as your data source.

13. Insert the following field names as highlighted below taking note of the spaces before and after each field:

14. Enter your name after the closing Yours sincerely ensuring that you have left a few line spaces for a signature.

15. Before completing the merge – highlight the address block and change the formatting of the paragraphs so that there is no spacing before and after the paragraph.

16. Before completing the mail merge, save the document with the inserted merge fields as draft-yourname. Preview your work to see that the document looks suitable.

17. Complete and finish the mail merge. Save the new merged document as Exhibition letters-yourname. You should have 22 pages as there are 22 recipients. Close this document.

18. Save and close any open document keeping the same filenames.

Section 2

19. You are now going to create address labels to stick onto envelopes. Create a new blank document and follow the appropriate steps to set up a mail merge label.

20. Select the option Avery A4/A5 for the Label vendor and the label product number L7162

21. Use the file named Exhibition list.docx as your data source.

22. Insert the fields in the first label as shown below – taking note of spaces before and after each field:

23. Update the labels so that the merge fields are replicated on each label. Preview the document to ensure the labels look suitable.

Save the document at this stage with the filename draftlabels-yourname.

24. Finish and merge the labels to a new document. Save this document as mergedlabels-yourname. Close this document.

25. Close the document draftlabels-yourname.

26. You have now completed this task. Please email the following files to Mersedes Farjad at [email protected] for marking:
