Writing – Mini Beasts This week we are going to write about Mini-Beasts! Can you choose a favourite mini beast to write about? What is your favourite? Why is it your favourite? What do you like most about it? Is there anything special or interesting about your mini beast? Do you know any facts about the mini beats you have picked? Would you like to ask a question or find something out about your favourite mini beast? This week you will also have to choose the title of your writing! Non-negotiables: Capital letter at the beginning of a sentence. Full stop at the end of a sentence. Finger spaces between words. Challenge: Use a connective (and, or, then, next, because) Use a wow word to describe something on you story (In the Easter holiday I baked super delicious cookies) Use a question mark, examination mark or speech marks

Writing – Mini Beasts

This week we are going to write about Mini-Beasts! Can you choose a favourite mini beast to write about? What is your favourite? Why is it your favourite? What do you like most

about it? Is there anything special or interesting about your mini beast? Do you know any facts about the mini beats you have picked? Would you like to ask a question or find something out about your favourite mini beast?

This week you will also have to choose the title of your writing!

Non-negotiables: Capital letter at the beginning of a sentence. Full stop at the end of a sentence. Finger spaces between words.

Challenge: Use a connective (and, or, then, next, because) Use a wow word to describe something on you story (In the Easter holiday

I baked super delicious cookies) Use a question mark, examination mark or speech marks

for you. They will show you how to sound out as they write – if you think you can write then give it a go too or copy what your adult has written underneath! Now read your story together. An adult at home can support you to write the date and title – maybe they can write it on the whiteboard from your pack and you can copy! Draw a detailed picture – remember people are not made from sticks and we have ears, lips, fingers and feet! Talk about what you are going to write before you start. Try to write by yourself - you can do it! Your adult can help by writing words you can’t sound out on your whiteboard. Now read your story together. Try to do most or all the writing by yourself – your adult may need to help with the date! Give the title a try then draw a super detailed pictured. When you start writing use sounding out to help you spell words. Remember you can’t sound out tricky words! At the end read your story to an adult at home and together you can check your spelling!
