Real time input
Real time input helps you record seconds before
Velocity
How long the note is and how fast its played
Step recording
Shows you the keyboard and the notes that you play on with the midi keyboard or using a tool. It gives you options to shorten or move the note to different keys. It also shows the velocity of the note and it gives you options to click the note into the bar.
Clicking in
It’s a fast way of clicking note if you have the snap on, the note will click the note on the bars so it would in the time signature.
Inserting deleting notes
To insert notes you may have to use a midi keyboard or use a key editor and to delete notes you have to use razor tools.
The razor tools are located on top and the options are object selection, split, range selection, glue, erase, zoom, mute, comp, time wrap, draw, line, play.
Key director is a keyboard that’s in Cubase it shows you the notes when that play on the keyboard and it gives you options to split, delete or move the notes
Placement
The snap tool snaps the note into a bar so it can be at the same time as the quantize
you can change the size of the note by making it longer you can also change the placement of the note by moving it up and down
Note length
It’s how long a note is you may use a pencil or the keyboard to make the note longer.
you have to be careful because you can change the time signature without even knowing it
Quantization:
It moves the notes to the right beat of the time signature you chose. To use quantization you have to record the instrument you chose and then press a key of the keyboard and it should change the notes to the beat.
You can change the grid colour by using the appearance work area by going to preference, work area and change edit windows.
Stylistic interpretation
Tempo track:
Tempo rack is a way of changing the tempo by using the pencil tool and draw on the line it should change the tempo the way you want it you also have the options of using quantization by clicking on bar and you can select each option you want. On the left hand side shows you the tempo position. If you want to make the tempo jump you have to use the bar tool and draw it on the line how long you want it to jump for.
This options gives the ramp, jump and automatic tempo
This is also another options you can use for the tempo track. This option gives you a grid so it would be easier.
Time signature track:
This changes the time signature of your track by doing this you have to go to signature track and use the pencil tool to draw on the grid then change the tempo by writing what kind of tempo you want.
Combining sounds:
To combine sounds you have to use two recordings that you played or record
Bouncing:
To bounce your file you have to go to export audio mix down and fill in the blanks then export it as a wave file after you export it you log in to your sound cloud and import the file
This is my audio file:
I cut it and erased half of my audio file then used automation to make the audio sound more realistic
