We are one of only six primary schools in Edinburgh to achieve Gold Level, and the first Catholic school in Edinburgh to do so. We are very proud of this fantastic achievement, which is the culmination of the work carried out in school over the past four years. A huge thank you to all the children, staff and parents who have contributed to this achievement. Special thanks, however, must go to Mrs Burnett who has led the project with such skill and enthusiasm from the very start. EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL COMPETITION Our entry to the above competition has been short-listed among the Primary Schools’ finalists and will be screened to an invited audience of pupils and teachers on Wednesday 19 June at the Edinburgh Filmhouse. The film, which is part of the children’s campaign to improve road safety around the school, can be viewed on our school website. Good luck to Mr Doyle and all those who took part in making the film! SHARING EVENT FOR PARENTS/CARERS Many thanks to all those parents who came along to our Sharing Event on Wednesday 15 May, and especially to those who met with the Assessor from UNICEF to discuss the school’s work on the Rights Respecting School Award. It was great to see all of the amazing work that the children have been doing about Non-discrimination on grounds of nationality, gender, religion and all of the other protected characteristics. SPORTS DAY This took place for all P1-P7 children on Thursday, 7 June in Bangholm Playing Fields. The sun came out just in time and the afternoon was a great success. Thanks to Miss Richard for all her hard work in organising this event, and to all those parents/carers who came along to lend their support. P4 FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS

life of the school. This will take place between 1330-1430 and parents/carers of children in P3-P7 are very welcome to attend.

UNIFORMAt this time of the year, most parents/carers will be buying new items of school uniform. Our official school uniform supplier is Border Embroideries, who offer an online scheme to buy various items of uniform with the school badge. Full details are on their website www.border-embroideries.co.uk and there is also a link from our school website. Parents can also, if they wish, buy unbranded items from stores or supermarkets but please note that our school colours are dark green pullovers/cardigans/sweatshirts, white shirts/polo shirts or blouses, grey trousers/shorts/skirts and green and white checked summer dresses for girls. The vast majority of children wear our school colours, but in some of the older classes in particular, other colours such as grey, black or navy blue are beginning to make an appearance. Please support the school by buying uniform items in the correct colours. Thank you for your cooperation.
