Introduction to the Reproductive System Name: ____________ Happy holidays (so close!) everyone! The reproductive system is complicated, especially the female system. To get our feet wet with this difficult topic, we will look at the anatomy (structure) and see how it connects to physiology (function). We will do this in three ways: video, web tutorial, and your textbook. Use a video Search Google for "Bozeman reproductive system". As you watch, pay careful attention to: Male reproductive system structures and functions Female reproductive system structures and functions The process of ovulation The menstrual cycle and specifically the hormones involved (where they come from, what they act on, and what they do) Development of the embro is interesting, but unfortunately not covered in Biology 12. For example, search Google images for "dorsal lip transplantation" or "zpa limb bud transplant" for weird things that happen when you alter normal course of development. Use a Tutorial Search Google for "John Wiley reproductive system". You should have interactive diagrams that you can click on, zoom into, read about functions etc. When you highlight a structure, if it turns red you can click on it to read more about the structure and function. Happy holidays (so close!) everyone! The reproductive system is complicated, especially the female system. To get our feet wet with this difficult topic, we will look at the anatomy (structure) and see how it connects to physiology (function). We will do this in three ways: video, web tutorial, and your textbook.

Use a video

Search Google for "Bozeman reproductive system". As you watch, pay careful attention to:

Male reproductive system structures and functions Female reproductive system structures and functions The process of ovulation The menstrual cycle and specifically the hormones involved (where they come from, what they act on, and

what they do)

Development of the embro is interesting, but unfortunately not covered in Biology 12. For example, search Google images for "dorsal lip transplantation" or "zpa limb bud transplant" for weird things that happen when you alter normal course of development.

Use a Tutorial

Search Google for "John Wiley reproductive system". You should have interactive diagrams that you can click on, zoom into, read about functions etc. When you highlight a structure, if it turns red you can click on it to read more about the structure and function. Work your way around and try to find all the following terms. There are many more!
