EXTERNAL EXAMINERS REPORT 2016 – 2017 This form should be used for both Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate Programmes and Modules. Please read the form and answer relevant questions as fully as possible. The boxes will expand as you type into them. The report is to be used for all taught programme delivery, including that at Partner Institutions. For provision at Bradford please complete Sections 1 to 6 only. Please only comment about Bradford provision here. For programmes at Partner Institutions Section 7 must also be completed – one part for each partner please. Please complete the claim form at the end for your fee – if you are not sure what your annual fee is please complete the rest but leave that box blank and we can complete the amount for you when we receive the report. This is a change from previous years when the fee was generated automatically on receipt of your report, due to a change in payroll practice. The form should be downloaded and completed electronically in MS Word format, attached to an email and sent to [email protected] . Alternatively you may print the completed form and post it to AQE, Room E68b, Richmond Building, Richmond Road, Bradford, BD7 1DP. An External Examiner may be appointed to a subject area, a particular programme, or specific modules. This depends on local Faculty needs and agreement between the Examiner and the programme team. This form should be used in all cases. Programme teams rely on feedback from their External Examiners to maintain the standards of the University’s awards and the currency of the curriculum. Your comments and observations are incorporated into the annual programme planning processes and are reviewed by the Academic Quality & Enhancement and the Vice Chancellor’s office. 1

EXTERNAL EXAMINERS REPORT2016 – 2017

This form should be used for both Undergraduate and Taught Postgraduate Programmes and Modules.

You will receive a formal response from the University including an action plan compiled by the programme team in response to points and issues raised by you in your report.

The report should be completed as soon as possible after the assessment cycle and at the latest by 31 July for Undergraduate programmes and by 30 November for Taught Postgraduate programmes.

The reports are published on the Academic Quality & Enhancement web page, available to staff, students and Partners, and so must not identify individuals. If you wish to raise issues in stricter confidence, you may send a confidential letter directly to the Vice Chancellor.

It is also helpful if issues are raised directly with the programme team, to allow them to be addressed as quickly as possible.

It is your responsibility to make a declaration of interest where circumstances may give rise to a potential conflict of interest that could threaten the quality assurance processes of the University. Do you have a potential conflict of interest to declare?
