Goals:· Investigate problems and find a solution supported by data and evidence.· Interpret and communicate scientific information.· Learn how to solve problems in a team atmosphere.· Learn how manipulate technology to express scientific results.· Connect science to other core subjects and the real world and see how

different disciplines of science are related to the issues in everyday life.

My classroom webpage will be updated weekly with what we are doing in class. It will also list important dates to remember.

Grades:A = 100 – 89.5% B = 89.4 – 79.5% C = 79.4 – 69.5% D = 69.4 – 59.5%

F = 59.4 and below

Notebook 25%Labs 25%Daily Work/Homework 10%Tests/Quizzes 40% =100%Science Fair: A science fair project is mandatory for this class and it will be worth 300 points. Another hand-out with more information will be given out in the next week.

Requirements: 1. Students are required to come class prepared and on time everyday. Students

that misbehave during instructional time receive the following:· Verbal warning· Loss of Science Privileges (this could mean the student watches his/her team on the next experiment)

· Phone call /email to parent · Detention ( before school)

· Serious violations will result in a student being written up and sent to the Principal's office.

2. Students are to enter the classroom, get their textbook, and get a chromebook to begin the bell work activity. 3. No food or drinks are allowed in the classroom; including gum and candy. 4. Cell phones must be turned off and either out of site or in the cell sitter.

Class Rules:1. Listen when the teacher is talking2. Raise your hand before speaking3. Follow Directions4. Treat others with kindness and respect5. Pick up after yourself6. Always do your best
