  Revise all words learnt to date in the Tricky Word Bag. ‘I, the, he, she, me, we, be, was, to, do, are’

New word ‘all’. Cut out the word ‘all’ and put it into the Tricky Word Bag. Encourage your child to look at and say this word without

sounding it out. Think of different sentences with the word ‘all’ e.g. ‘We are all having so much fun!’….. ‘All the boys and girls are in school today!’ etc.

make the words   ‘snip’ and ‘pin’.

5.Nursery   Rhyme:   Continue to revise nursery rhymes. Which rhyme was about a black sheep, three bags of wool, the master, the dame and the little boy? Are there any words that sound alike in the rhyme? Wool and full, dame and lane. These words rhyme.

6.   Cracking Maths pg.   51   -2 D Shapes : Colour the rectangle green. Colour the circle red.

 A circle is a curved shape, It has no corners. It is very good at rolling because it has no corners. Encourage your child to think of objects that are circles.e.g. cookies, plates, wheels etc.

A rectangle has 4 sides (Two long sides and 2 short sides), 4 corners, it cannot roll because its corners stop it from doing so.

Encourage your child to think of objects that are rectangles e.g., doors, windows, books etc.

Please see Microsoft Teams for PowerPoint on ‘Shape Songs ‘‘I’m a little triangle’ and ‘I’m a little circle’ (Sing to the tune of ‘I’m a Little Tea Pot’. We have also put in the shape songs for the square and triangle.

7.   Just   Handwriting:p.g   4(Practice copy)   Write   the letter   d Draw a picture for the letter ‘d’See Microsoft Teams for handwriting video on the formation of the letter d.

When we are forming the letter ‘d’ we say ‘up, around like a ‘c’, up to the top, down and a

tail’. d Remember …..

Encourage your child to practice writing the letter in the air first using their ‘Peter Pointer Finger’.

 If you have play doh at home, your child can use it to make the letter ‘d’.

Continue to encourage your child to hold his/her pencil properly ‘Between Tommy Thumb and Peter Pointer with Middle Man/Toby Tall helping! Ruby Ring and Baby Small go to sleep! Hold down the page with the hand not being used.

Discuss who the people in the picture are and what their jobs are? Show them the way. Begin at the arrow. (Finger trace activity) Complete activity with pencil. Colour the pictures.

 Pg.   68   (Ms.   Weafer’s   Class) Look at the big flag. Which little flag is the same? Colour the big flag

and the same little flag using different colours!

8.Small WorldMrs. Browne’s Class: Small World pg. 26 Winter. - In winter, it is cold. Sometimes it even snows. Circle the clothes you wear in winter to keep warm.

(a) Revise PowerPoint Presentation ‘All about Winter’. Focus on Winter Weather and discuss the need to keep warm. Clothes which are suitable for winter. Clothes which would not be suitable for winter etc. (b) Have a look at the link below from Sesame Street ’Bert is all dressed up for Winter’. Sesame Street: Bert is All Dressed Up for Winter(c) Complete Small World page 26. Winter.

Ms. Weafer’s Class: Small World pg. 43 ‘Now and then’. Classroom in the past and in the present.

Talk about schools long ago and how they have changed e.g. there were no interactive whiteboards, computers etc. Talk about when you were in school and what the classroom looked like. Compare school life with your own and the children’s now today. What has changed or has stayed the same since you were in school?

Revise each sound in the Sound Bag.   Look at words e words beginning with ‘l’ which were

in our sound's booklet e.g.  lion, lamb, leaf, lemon, lighthouse  etc. Encourage your child to put some of the sounds from sound

bag together and try to make some short words e.g. let, land, lamp, log

Where is the ‘l’ sound? Is it at the beginning, middle or end of the word?

Encourage your child to air trace the correct formation of the letter ‘l’ using his/her Peter Pointer finger.  We say ‘  when making the letter ‘l’

  Focus on ‘l’ sound. Can your child remember the jolly phonics ‘l’ song and action?

Video 1: Encourage your child to look at the video and listen to the story.

Video 2: Encourage your child to look at the video and take part in the labelling activity

Label the words in the poster. Pause the video and look for more words to label in the poster.

Listen to the poem at the end of the video and ask your child what was the poem about

9..Grow   in   Love   ‘At Home’   pg.   33 Jesus teaches us Read and write the words.Our lesson this week is:  Theme 5: Jesus. We would like you to go on a wellness walk with your family if you can. The focus of the walk is to chat about what you are grateful for. Try to identify something you can see, touch, smell, hear and feel on your walk. Take a look at the scavenger hunt below.

Send in a picture to your teacher on what you are grateful for. Enjoy and remember ‘There is something good in every day’ 😊
