What is Stress?Stress is a response to
specific events that make a person feel
threatened.
The Stress Response (“fight-or-flight
reaction”) occurs when a person feels in
danger. The Stress Response is a sense of
protection for the body.
Cope with Stress
Share your feelings – Openly communicate your thoughts, feelings, concerns, and questions respectively.
Stay positive – Focus on your blessings in life. Remember your positive characteristics.
Eat a healthy diet – Nutritious, healthy diets, can help clear your mind and help you cope with stress.
Exercise – Regular exercise can help reduce stress. Make sure to exercise each day.
How to Cope with Stress
Make time to relax – Take time each day to relax from all of your responsibilities and worries.
Manage your time – Organize and plan ahead.
Learn how to say “NO” - Don’t take on more responsibilities than you can handle. Recognize your limitations.
Forgive – No one is perfect. We all make mistakes. Release feelings of anger and move on.
