STAMPED TEXTURE CLAY BOXComparative Study (Journal pages)
� Cover for Unit of Study write STAMPED TEXTURE in box letters
� Research Find 3 images of clay boxes that have a stamped or incised pattern, put the images in your journal along with a full credit line for each piece. Write an analysis that included two elements of Art and one Principle of design used in the artwork. You may use an Element and a Principle only once. Be specific in your writing giving details where you see the Elements and Principles. How could this influence your project design? You must write your answer using complete sentences.
Process Portfolio (Journal pages)� Design possible 1” square stamp designs.� Carve your plans into an Art Gum eraser. Check
your stamp using an ink pad.� Sketch out a box shape based upon your research.� Make a paper mock-up of your project (template for
slabs needed)� Construct the clay box using the slab technique.� Press in your stamp into your box.� Add any other textures, incise patterns that are part
of your plan.� Take photos along the way for documentation.� Write in progress notes to go with your printed
photos.� Have your box bisque fired.� Apply color (paint or glaze)� Take photos along the way for documentation.� Write in progress notes to go with your printed

Exhibition (includes journal pages)� Photograph (three views) your sculpture.
Have the photographs printed.� Credit line with artist statement about the
process.� Answer these questions using complete
