My dear friends in Christ,

I am asking our parishioners to call the office if you have someone at home who needs to make their Easter Duty: Confession/Communion. I have already started to visit such

parishioners and would appreciate your scheduling a time, if needed, as soon as possible. This time of the year becomes very busy for a priest. Penance services have already begun at all the parishes in our deanery. Please, once again, if you know someone in need of these sacraments, call the parish office and schedule a time.

This Fourth Sunday in Lent is referred to as Leatare Sunday; so called from the first word of the entrance antiphon of the Mass. It is taken from the Latin translation, meaning “rejoice”. We are at the halfway mark in the Lenten Season. We can begin the anticipation of the resurrection mystery. This Sunday sets the tone for the

joyful anticipation of the Easter Season.

Peace,Fr. John
