ESSAY REWRITE procedure.

You will be expected to rewrite all essays on the basis of my comments and your own rethinking of the essay prompt. I cannot re-assess your rewrite unless I can find the changes you make, and I do not want to re-read the entire essay. Make it easy for me to find your changes.

One way, if your changes are minimal, is to cross out omissions and add a sheet with clearly identified

and numbered changes. USE A DIFFERENT COLOR or TYPEFACE or size.

Another way, more popular, is to turn in the original draft which contains my comments, as well as the revised version. In that new version, identify new or rewritten text with bold or italics or color. Show deletions by using the ”strikethrough” feature found if you click on the arrow in the lower right of the font tab from Microsoft word “Home”. (see below)

If you only change the grammar and punctuation you will only receive an additional percentage point. If you actually address the argumentation, (claims and evidence) you have the opportunity to earn up to eight (8) percentage points.

Make yourself familiar with and practice proper citation using MLA style.
