The Easy Button for Secretaries: How to Make the Secretary’s Job Faster and Easier Presenter: Allen Garner Secretaries and presidents will learn fast and easy ways to manage the job of secretary, increase the satisfaction of their membership, and ensure that Rotary and the District have up-to-date information on club members. Many clubs have missed implementing a few key components that could save hours of time each month. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet computers. This session will be offered once. Group Study Exchange is now Vocational Training Teams: 2014-15 - Agricultural Exchange with Romania Presenters: Bill Cosgrove, Debbie Cosgrove and Matt Eichor, Group Study Exchange (GSE) was a much-loved program in District 6040. With the changes to the RI New Grants Model, GSE has become Vocational Training Teams (VTT). The main difference is that team members focus on an area of study or training. They are expected to take what they learn and apply it in their home country. Participants in this session will hear about An Agricultural Exchange with District 2241 (Romania and Moldova) which will be focused in the agricultural production area(s) of our district. This session will be offered once. Boost Your Club’s Connection to Your Rotary Foundation Presenters: Panel Presentation, Mark Horner - Moderator Designed for members who are new to Rotary and those wanting a refresher course, this session will include a “nuts and bolts” discussion of topics such as (1) The Rotary Foundation’s sources of funds, (2) how to contribute, (3) how the District and clubs benefit from contributions, and (4) the projects and activities that are made possible by contributions. This session will be offered once.

The Easy Button for Secretaries: How to Make the Secretary’s Job Faster and EasierPresenter: Allen Garner

Panel Presentation with Moderator: Jeff RomineA panel of individuals who are members of small and innovative clubs will focus discussion on the question: “What can a small club do to assure continued growth and vitality?” The goal will be to identify activities and projects that enable clubs to be vital and active and expand their membership. This session will be offered once.

Your Club’s Future: Club Long Range PlanningPresenter: Kent Shelman

District 6040 has provided club long-range planning for four years. This session presents the benefits of planning, the nuts and bolts of how it could work for your club, and what other clubs have done as a result of engaging in long-range planning. Successful seminars have been conducted for clubs from 18 to 135 members. This session will be offered once.

Your Club’s Future: Attracting, Energizing, and Retaining MembersPresenters: Duane Benton and Sandra Benton

Come discuss new and successful ways to attract members, involve them immediately, enhance your service, earn the Presidential Citation, and make your community and the world a better place. Membership is our district’s #1 priority! This session will be offered twice.

Your Club’s Future: Successful District Simplified Grant ApplicationsPresenter: Elizabeth Usovicz

Is your club planning to apply for a District Simplified Grant? In this session, we will take a look at successful applications and projects, including how clubs found innovative ways to meet sustainability, measurability, and club sweat equity requirements. This session will be offered once.

The Three R’s: Connecting to Rotary, Rotarians, and Resources. (Topics: Club Runner, Rotary Integration, and Club Central) [Target: Presidents, Presidents-elect, Secretaries, but open to all.]

Presenter: Allen GarnerParticipants will learn more about how the use Club Runner and Club Central and hear from others who have used the program. Participants will learn about the methods and benefits of Rotary Integration. Even if you are not a secretary or a president, feel free to stop by to learn about the online tools available and how they can help your club. Please bring your questions about Club Runner, Club Central, and Rotary Integration to the question and answer session. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet computers. This session will be offered once.

Build A Web Page For Your Club – Part One of a Two-Part Series. Part Two will be offered via a Webinar after Mega Training. During part two, participants will build a web page on their own computers.

Presenter: Chad WaldoThis session will explain how to create a club website. Participants will start down the path of creating a web site and will have the basic concepts necessary when the session concludes. This topic will be continued in a second session, a webinar hosted at a later time by Chad Waldo. The date and time for that session will announced at this session. This session will be offered once.

EREY: How Only 28 Cents a Day Can Make Rotarians HeroesPresenters: John Gill, Mark Horner, and Rick Simon

Many District 6040 reach their Foundation Goals every year. How do they do it? Clubs are being surveyed to find the Best Practices throughout our district. A new idea or two may make the difference in reaching your Foundation Goals. Much of the time in this session will be devoted to questions and answers. This session will be offered once.

Youth Summit – Engaging Younger RotariansPresenter: Larry Lunsford

Larry will discuss strategies and tactics for attracting, engaging, and retaining younger Rotarians in your club. A summary of best practices and new ideas will be given. He will also cover some of the larger organizational policy issues that may be involved in engaging younger individuals. This session will be offered once.

Youth Exchange: Launch an International Experience for Your Club and CommunityPresenter: Annette Sweet

Participants will learn about how to conduct a successful inbound or outbound youth exchange. The long-term and short-term exchange will be discussed. Rotary’s high-impact youth exchange program makes it possible for the young people and host families in your community to have an “international experience” and never leave home. This session will be offered once.

Building Club-to-Club Partnerships through Global GrantsPresenter: Elizabeth Usovicz

The first step in developing a Global Grant project isn’t fund-raising. It is developing a partnership with a club in the project host country. How do you establish and foster good communication between the host and international clubs? How can you build partnerships with other clubs in District 6040 to support an international project and fund it through the Global Grant program? How can your club become a contributing club to a Global Grant project? This session will provide tips for developing club-to-club partnerships as well as a checklist for getting a Global Grant project started in your club. This session will be offered once.
