Today is a day to reflect; to remember that life can be fleeting and each day must be lived as though there will be no tomorrow; no regrets. Of course this sounds great, but it is really difficult to pull off. We all worry about tomorrow. Love, work, finances, goals, plans; looking far into our futures and often becoming stressed to the point of illness; I speak from personal experience.
So, today… I live today. I will go down by the water and calm myself; send prayers out to the universe for those who died and the families that still relive the pain of loss on this anniversary.
When I am stressed, I always long to be near the ocean. The sound, smell, feel, of those waters calms my soul; after time spent by the water, I sometimes come home and create a painting from my mind’s eye that depicts how my emotions and the ocean mixed that day.
Below are a few of my novice interpretations. Following mine are some awesome painting I found in an internet search that I wanted to share with my readers. Note: first are some very colorful abstracts, then some more realistic works. Which do you prefer? What moves you about the ocean? Do you prefer a painting that shows how the water reflects that above, or do you enjoy seeing the movement of waves crashing rocks?
Please, join in the conversation and share your feelings when you look at the artists’ works I have posted here. Also, post any paintings of the ocean that you have found (or painted!) and want to share.
Wishing you a calm and colorful day of reflection,Judi Walters
