The Deacons are revising our Helping Hand Ministry, PAIL (Pregnancy and Infancy Loss) ministry, and CARE Teams (i.e., helpers for those in our church needing periodic but ongoing care).   The deacons want to appeal to the whole congregation to remember these ministries in prayer and take part in one if God calls you to help.    1) Helping Hands brings food to those who are hurting/sick/grieving. Please contact Pam Helms (803-479-7777).  2) PAIL provides a remembrance and care service to those who are dealing with grief from the death of a baby (in the womb or as an infant).  Please contact Debbie Yandle (803-707-5007,  [email protected] ) for further information.  3) CARE Teams provide a knock on the door and/or time to those who have continual health issues.  Perhaps help with errands, medicine delivery, etc. If you'd like to volunteer, please contact Bill Bearden (803-379-7933,  [email protected] .  All three of these efforts involve modest work, are rewarding for those involved, and needed for LMPC.
Three New Growing/Learning Opportunities this Lent 1) Lenten Devotional- "Stories in the Dark" written by LMPC staff and some new officers, illustrations by Lizzie Shepard.  Lent is a time to grow in remembrance, repentance, and renewal and a brief daily devotional is a tool.  We have mailed out copies to everyone but there are extras online and hard copies in the office and narthex.  There are also children's devotional books.   2) Lenten Study- Each Wednesday at 12:00 you can join in Facebook Live as Dr. Sloan leads us through some Lenten disciplines to strengthen us.  3) Music- Now that some have had shots, we are beginning music anew.  Each choir member will be given a "singer's mask."  Handbells meet Wednesday at 6:30; Men's Chorus will meet next March 6 & 13 10 AM for singing 3/14.  Ladies choir is also available (contact Janet Roberts-Crump).   We are also looking for musicians and soloists.  It is time to Sing to the Lord a new song!
FOOD BLESSING BOX MINISTRY  We have begun our socially-distanced way of helping the hungry through our Food Blessing Box.  We are encouraging groups to sign up to fill the box on Sundays.  If your group would like to fill the box, let Blaine Hill or Ben Sloan know or sign up on our SignUpGenius page: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f45a4a829abf85-oakgrovelmpc .

New Bible Study! Thursdays at 10:00 am, by Zoom. Contact Rev. Blaine Hill for details.  We start a new study of I and II Samuel February 4th. Join us as we read all the drama of Saul, Goliath, David. Marvel at their courage, self-destructive fury and passion, faith and struggle. See the Lord’s care through a story that is more dramatic  than a mash up of Grey’s anatomy and How to Get Away with murder. Do not miss it!
