Passion Caterers, based in Ayrshire are, quite simply, passionate about good food! Steven Adair, the Chef

owner, started off in ‘The Witchery’ over 30 years ago and has worked in many of the top Hotels and

Restaurants in Scotland. He has cooked for some very famous people (including the Queen and Princess

Anne) and continues to win awards for Passion Caterers - the latest being ‘Catering Chef of the Year’ 2018

awarded by the Scottish Food Awards and Academy- along the way! If you are passionate about your food

then Passion Caterers is the choice for you.

What I like most about Steven Adair's style of cooking is his simplicity. I've eaten his food many times and what sticks in my mind is his deft handling and sensitivity to the ingredients he uses. Flavours shine through and Adair is true to his roots, using local and seasonal produce. There are no gimmicks, fancy foams or oddball additives; at heart, he is a traditionalist with a twist.

A sharing platter allows your guests to pick at a selection of starters and is a lovely ‘ice-breaker’ for the guests at the table, as well as offering colour and variety. Boswell Wedding Evening Buffet Selector 2021

Due to popular demand we have created a selector option where you can choose whatever you wish and pay per item.

As a ‘rule of thumb’ we would recommend that you allow a minimum of a round of sandwiches per person or a roll and a half per person and a cup of tea or coffee per person (around 50% will take it up – but that 50% will have 2/3 cups per person!)

The bowl food portion provides approximately 4/6 tasty mouthfuls of food. +The minimum order of any item of bowl food is for 30 people. All evening buffets are laid out on the buffet tables at the side of the lounge area.

Sandwiches on a mixture of brown and white bread:Egg mayonnaise, salami and salad, tuna and sweetcorn, cheese £4.50 per round and picklePrawn mayonnaise, roast beef and horseradish, honey roasted £5.50 per roundHam, chicken mayonnaise and wild rocket, savoury cheese

Passion Caterers at Boswell 2021The Small Print/Questions and Answers

The ‘Small Print’ covers all those little questions that you may have prior to making a booking. Passion Caterers are the exclusive caterers for Boswell Estates Weddings and are a separate company from Boswell who will have their own contract with you.

What is included in Passion Caterer’s menu prices at Boswell?Passion Caterers fees for events booked through them at this location include: the services of the chef/s to prepare your chosen menu, the cost and preparation of the food, the crockery and cutlery on which the meals are served and the waiting staff to serve your food on the day (although we reserve the right to charge a premium on certain bank holidays for staff wages and this will be advised prior to deposit payment). Please note the Boswell ‘small print’ applies only to events booked at Boswell and any events outside of Boswell will fall within our standard conditions or ‘small print’ which can be found on our website at www.passioncaterers.co.uk.

Can we use other caterers or bring in our own food?Passion Caterers are the exclusive caterers for Boswell Marquee. We will be delighted to cut and serve your wedding cake for you however this is the only item of food (other than wrapped sweet favours or a professionally catered sweet or ice-cream cart in the evening) that can be brought into the marquee.Is there a minimum spend?

If you wish to have a ‘sit down’ meal served by our staff then, in order to cover our wages costs we will be looking to provide you with a minimum of four canapes, plus a three-course meal including tea or coffee for all guests. Alternatively, you can choose a minimum of 4 canapes, one of our buffet or barbecue menus plus tea or coffee for all guests during the day. If you are having an evening buffet there is a minimum spend of 1 filled roll per guest plus 50% of guests taking tea or coffee.

Why do choice menus cost more?Quite simply, it costs more to purchase, prepare and serve a choice menu - and there is a very high wastage cost – even with pre-selection orders. The marquee kitchen is a service kitchen only. This means we prepare what you order and bring it with us on the day. On the average wedding offering a choice we find around 10% of people change their mind on the day – even if they have a name card in front of them with their menu choices! Rather than argue with them causing an issue on your special day we simply provide them with the alternative and these extra meals must be factored into the pricing. In addition, it adds approximately 15 minutes to each course service. If, however you do wish a choice you will find a competitively priced menu within the pack offering the two most popular choices. If you choose your own menu please be prepared for approximately a 25% premium on the menu prices to cover these costs. (Please be assured that even with a set menu we will cater for that small number of guests you may have with special dietary requirements.)

What is the booking process?We will email you once Boswell have notified us of your booking, requesting a meeting and attaching an electronic menu pack. The meeting will run through your event and will take around an hour. Following this a planner will be issued and this will be updated as time goes on. Approximately seven months prior to the wedding you will receive a fee deposit request for £1500.00. This is a non-refundable fee which secures your date with Passion Caterers and is due to be paid a minimum of six months prior to the wedding or event. We will contact you again eight weeks prior to the wedding to get your final numbers (and your guest’s menu choices if you have selected the choice menu) so that the final balance fee note can be raised. If you do not advise us of your final numbers by seven weeks prior a fee note will be raised on the last planner figures. The final balance is due for payment a minimum of 6 weeks prior to the wedding. Payment is requested through electronic banking (the details will be on your fee note). We do not accept credit cards or PayPal. Please note, it is your responsibility to ensure payment by six weeks prior to the event. If we do not receive the deposit or the full balance at these times, then we will assume the event has been cancelled and you will forfeit all payments. Your seating plan is requested the week prior to your wedding. (This should show the position of all tables, the number of guests at each table and also have marked where at each table the ‘special dietaries/children’ are seated so we can find them easily during service.) A final meeting will take place the day prior to the wedding when we will go over the final details.

What is the validity of the prices quoted?All of our Boswell menu prices are valid for events taking place in 2021, however as we are quoting prices so far in advance, we do reserve the right to amend these should any food or staff prices suddenly go up significantly due to

economic circumstances beyond our control (for example Brexit may affect food prices, or there may be changes in tax rates). If this does happen, we will notify you of the increase or try to offer an alternative within the agreed budget.Last minute changes

Should you have any small, last-minute increase in numbers or catering requests please advise a minimum of 1 week prior to the event so we can cater for this for you. Please see below for drops in numbers.
