Minutes from December 2015 meeting were accepted as written.

JIM ASHBURY WAS THE WINNER OF THE DINNER RAFFLE.

Our treasury, as reported by Phil DiMazzio, now has a balance of $2,147.08. Since our last meeting, he’s paid $786.00 for the club’s liability insurance for the pond. He is now receiving 2016 dues and has already collected from many members since our December meeting as well as this evening. Dues are $75.00 and can be paid at the meeting or a check can be sent to: PHIL DIMAZZIO, 17 PILGRAM CIRCLE, NASHUA, NH 03063.ALL DUES ARE TO BE PAID BY MARCH 31, 2016. Phil reported that we now have 54 members with 2 new and 7 who have dropped out. Ray mentioned that he was aware that 2 more may resign due to travel and other reasons. On the topic of OLD BUSINESS, Ray reported that the club will sponsor a youth for attending the trout camp. Also, Gerry Armstrong had intended to be at tonight’s meeting, but called Ray today saying he wasn’t feeling up to

it and would plan to attend next month.

Ray reported that the pond is now closed as ice has formed on the surface, but several members did fish on Christmas day. The ropes being used on the safety buoys around the pond are fraying badly and one rope has even been broken. Mark Thornton will be meeting with the church to discuss their acquiring replacement ropes and will also discuss the issue of removing blue gills.

Ray is still working with Wally Marcella to make sure the change of website management goes as smoothly as possible. Wally’s son, who does the actual work on the website, has his busiest time is in the January/February time frame and this has consequently slowed down the transition.

As NEW BUSINESS: Ray mentioned that the February program will be a presentation of kayak fly fishing in the north shore of Boston by Joe Gugino of Why Knot Fishing. Ray also said that Dave Kolesar will be speaking in the March meeting and that Steve Burke had also lined up a speaker for April.

New officers have taken over with the only recent change being Harry Mink picking up the secretary position from Brenda Philippon. Ray and the club extended appreciation for all of the quality work Brenda has contributed to the club.

He then mentioned that the Marlborough fly fishing show is being held January 22, 23rd and 24th this month and that it’s a great show one should

attend. He also mentioned that the former Pelham show has been replaced with a show in Manchester and that will happen February 27th . . . and it’s a fly fishing only show as well.

Ray reported that he had received a very good response for this meeting with 28 signing up as well as 12 declining . . . a 75% response rate.

Mary Weiss brought desert for tonight’s meeting and Russ Bartlett graciously offered to bring dessert for February meeting.

Charlie Shadan gave an interesting talk about the various fly lines that are commercially available, some new accessory items that all should consider as well as the various flex choices available in fly rods. I observed heads nodding both approval and otherwise on various topics as Charlie gave his talk, but all joined in a warm, sincere applause as he wrapped up his presentation.

ONCE AGAIN: $75.00 dues must be paid by March 31, 2016. Your check can be sent to Phil DiMazzio, 17 Pilgrim Circle, Nashua, 03063.

Respectfully submitted,Harry Mink, Secretary*************************************************************************************“Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.” Henry David Thoreau
