Please pray for Charlie Harn and his family as his condition has deteriorated in the past few

weeks. Please pray as well for Charlie’s grandson, Nick Austin (Debbie’s Son), who has been

experiencing terrible migraines over the past year and they are continuing to affect him. Remember in your prayers: the Allen Family, Tony Graybill, Cody Krulac, Sandi Menne,

Kim Schisler and Mary Jo Willis. Remember the people who are in nursing homes and extended care, especially Janet

Cattron, Charlie Harn and Shirley Herbert. Please pray for the safety and protection of our Armed Forces. Pray for President Obama and especially our country.

Leader: How does the Holy Supper remind and assure you that you share in Christ’s One Sacrifice on the cross and in all His Benefits?

People: First, as surely as I see with my eyes the Bread of the Lord broken for me and the Cup shared with me, so surely His Body was offered and broken for me and His Blood poured out for me on the cross.

All: Second, as surely as I receive from the Hand of the One who serves, and taste with my mouth the Bread and Cup of the Lord, given me as sure signs of Christ's Body and Blood, so surely He nourishes and refreshes my soul for eternal life with His Crucified Body and poured-out Blood.

PRAYER OF INVOCATIONGod of all faithfulness, You have opened the Gate of Mercy for Your people and are always ready to welcome those who turn to You. Look on us in Your Compassion, that we may gladly respond to Your Love and faithfully walk in Your Way through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Bread of Life, You have commanded we prepare ourselves before we eat at Your Table. Yet too often we approach this Sacrament as if it was a common event. Forgive us for not taking Your Commands seriously. Next time we have Communion help us prepare ourselves for Your Body and Blood. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON {Psalm 32:3-5}While I kept silence, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your Hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.
