Breast Cancer Awareness Month October is a special time of year where we dedicate a month to show our support and spread awareness of breast cancer and those who are afflicted by it. During the last two weeks of the month, there will be a stand at the welcome center where there will be pamphlets with information, resources and bracelets that can be shared among the people in your community. Additionally, throughout the year, we have a ministry called We Care Workshop where we as a church get together to make pillows for those who are afflicted with breast cancer. This is a wonderful chance to share God’s love to those who need it. Future dates for We Care Workshop will be posted on the calendar.

Fall jam fest

Community OutreachOn October 19th, we will be going out into the community within close proximity of the Church to meet our neighbors! We want to welcome those who we haven’t attended Delaware Grace, give them a seasonal gift and invite them to our fall JAMfest that will be going on the following day. We will be meeting here at the church at 10am, where we will then break off into groups and head out. Thanks to Geoff and Mindy Shmidt for coordinating this outreach opportunity!

Fall JAMfest is right around the corner, coming up on October 20th at 3pm! This is such a fun and exciting event that we look forward to every year, so if you have never gotten the chance to attend before, be sure to mark your calendar. We’ve got inflatables, hot dogs, cider, hot chocolate, face painting, games, cookie decorating and a hayride. There will also be trunk-or-treat going on between 5:30 – 6pm, so plan on bringing your trunks and plenty of treats for the little ones. Our First Impressions Team (FIT) is looking to expand, and is inviting all of those who are interested in volunteering on Sunday mornings as greeters and serving coffee in the café to a training class on Sunday, Oct. 13th at 8:30am, followed by a breakfast to say thank you! This ministry is so important, being the first faces that visitors interact with on a Sunday morning and welcoming them into our church home. “FIT” training & thank you breakfast

Delaware Grace will be hosting two key Central African leaders on Sunday, October 6th at 6:00pm. Pastor Bavon Jonas and Dr. Ngoumape François will be strengthening ties with and thanking North American churches for ongoing support. We’ll have a reception with light refreshments, allowing these leaders to share a brief report followed by Q&A and fellowship. Encompass World Partners is glad to sponsor this special occasion and we hope you will make the time to be with us and these leaders! Other area Grace churches are invited as well. Compassion JourneyOctober 25th – 27th, Delaware Grace is hosting a Compassion Journey. Many of you sponsor kids already through Compassion, and this will be a great way to get a better sense of what your child goes through on a daily basis. Step into a new culture and see life from a different perspective during this audio-guided journey through a series of interactive exhibit. There will be opportunities to volunteer for this, but also to go through it. Compassion is inviting many from around our area. Women’s RetreatFriday, November 1st through Saturday, November 2nd, there is going to be a women’s retreat happening at Recreation Unlimited. Ladies, we can’t tell you how excited we are for this event and how much we want to see you there. The theme for the weekend of going to be “More”, where our speaker, Connie McNeal will lead you through Matthew 5-7, taking a deep dive into the sermon on the mount. It is encouraged that you take a look at those chapters before that weekend.

Registration is now open and the cost for the entire weekend is $70 which includes your overnight stay, breakfast, lunch, workshops and materials. If you only wanted to attend the Saturday session the cost is $50. We are also offering $10 off for those who sign up before October 10th! Space is limited so be sure to sign up as soon as you can if you’re interested in attending!
