CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

Photography is frequently referred to as the Nature's Pencil because it involves the

writing of light, a script of light. The characteristics of photography tell us how history is sealed

within the movement of language. This is why photography forces us to consider how history has

influenced language. No word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018).

Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all other people,

are an example of a style of photography. (Hossain, 2017). Wedding photography businesses in

different target markets have different types of customers. Some customers appreciate the

business that wedding photography products provide: Some customers appreciate the company's

wedding design creativity; there are some other customers who value the company launched a

unique filming base, also part of the emphasis on customer service store is the attitude of the

reception staff, of course, also part of the customer value the price provided by the wedding

photography enterprise (Jiang & He, 2016). Weddings and birthdays, for example, can be

photographed using the same scene types, but with different subjects that are important for event

recognition. A hiking event, for example, can be intuitively deduced from a ‘snowy mountain'

scene, whereas a wedding event is usually recognized and understood by the presence of a bride

in a white gown. (Bacha et al. 2016).

The wedding business industry is a large section in the hospitality industry which makes

a lot of money each year. Wedding business comprises multiple enterprises like caterers,

wedding consultants, dresses, various beauty suppliers (e.g. hair, makeup), and photographers.

Couples can choose from a wide variety of marriage packages. There are offers that are quite

flexible as well so you can customize the ceremony according to your preferences and budget

(Pongsir, 2014). Wedding photography has been growing in popularity and over the last decade

Page 5: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

5

for couples. Some research concludes that marriage has become a middle-class institution, rather

detached from the lives of the unmarried, poor majority of citizens (Pauli & Dawids, 2017).

Moreover, the researcher intends to present the different types of social classes in a modern

wedding set up here in the Philippines.

In the Philippines, there are different types of social classes. The social classes are rather

based on their attributes. The social type of concern in the Philippines are called conyo (also

spelled konyo, coño, cono, or conio) who are regarded as urban elite youth, light-skinned,

wealthy, materialistic, arrogant, maarte ‘high-maintenance’, and vacuous. The term conyo also

labels a person who mixes the English and Filipino language. Numerous tongue-in-cheek

grammars describe conyo language as a kind of Tagalog-English mixing (“Taglish” or“Englog”)

that is American English-dominant with excessive phatic flourishes. Conyo purportedly exhibits

a Bourdieuian “aesthetic discernment” when it comes to taste in luxury items, such as designer

clothes, expensive cars, and upscale coffee. While jologs, regarded as the tacky urban masses;

pa-conyo, regarded as the middle-class wannabe conyo are considered as low to middle classes

in the Philippines (Reyes, 2017). Based on Jian & He’s (n.d.) research, in the wedding industry

there are different and several types of target markets. Some couples can afford high-quality

packages, while others cannot due to a lack of funds. One of the most common problems a

couple faces is preventing themselves from hiring wedding photographers. Through wedding

photography, the researcher hopes to show couples modern Philippine weddings from various

social classes.

Due to COVID-19, mass gatherings are not allowed or prohibited at this time. COVID-19

has a high communicability and a high risk of spreading the severe acute respiratory syndrome 2

virus during large gatherings, according to studies. (Banikalef, 2020). Thus, allowing the

researcher to use another medium that can still be used to showcase and highlight the goal of the

study. The researcher will be gathering or collecting Pre-text based interviews and Pre-surveys

from Sociologists asking questions whether what attributes are considered as part of a certain

social class in a wedding. Once the information has been gathered, the researcher will be taking a

self-portrait and a picture of another model. The images or photographs taken by the researcher

will then be photo manipulated to apply the attributes that are considered as part of a social class.

Page 6: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

6

After photo manipulating the images, the researcher will be conducting a post survey to

Sociologists that will help support that the photos help identify the different types of Social

Classes in a modern wedding in the Philippines. Furthermore, the content of the photographs

taken by the researcher will allow showing quality artwork in terms of wedding photography to

whichever social class a person is standing. The attributes such as wealth, power, statum, and etc.

will be used to come up with a feasible photography style in weddings.

1.2Statement of the Problem

Photography is thought to be one of the simplest mediums for people to communicate

effectively, particularly in their daily lives. The artist can also use photography to communicate

with the rest of the world and help people understand things in ways that others cannot. (Panke,

2016). The main problem to answer is: How a photographic representation of social classes in

a modern wedding can be depicted?

1. How will the researcher identify the attributes of the social classes of a couple in modern

weddings in the Philippines?

2. How will the researcher interpret the social classes in a modem wedding in the

Philippines?

3. What questions will be asked in the post text-based interviews and post-surveys to

validate the assumptions of the study?

4. How will the researcher present the photographic representation of social classes in a

modern wedding in the Philippines?

1.3 Objectives of the Study

The main objective of the study is to publish a photobook of the different types of a

social class in modern weddings in the Philippines through photography.

Page 7: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

7

1. The researcher will be conducting research from Sociologists through pre-text-based

interviews to identify the attributes of the social classes.

2. The researcher will be using the Semiotic and Cognitive theories to interpret the social

classes in a modern wedding in the Philippines through photography and photo

manipulation.

3. To create a set of questions to be asked for validating the knowledge gained in the

differences of a social class through modern wedding photographs.

4. The researcher will be publishing an online photography book of the differences of a

social class in modern weddings in the Philippines.

1.4 Research Hypothesis and/or Assumptions

The study will depend on the researchers’ assumption that imparting knowledge about the

different types of social classes of modern weddings in the Philippines through photography will

be an effective contribution to the society, mainly to wedding photographers, couples and

Sociologists in the Philippines. The study will also show quality artwork in terms of interpreting

the images into photography that whichever social class a person is standing a wedding can still

be beautiful. The attributes such as wealth, power, statum, etc. will be able to guide the

researcher to understand which part of social class an image belongs to.

1.5 Significance of the Study

The researcher aims to show the different types of social classes in a modern wedding in

the Philippines through photography. The researcher aims to impart knowledge about the

different types of social classes in weddings to wedding photographers, couples and Sociologists.

The researcher aims that the output of the research of the different types of a social class in a

modern wedding in the Philippines through photography will be used to help contribute to the

Page 8: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

8

Philippine Wedding industry and to impart knowledge that a photo can still be depicted in a

quality artwork despite of whichever social class a person is standing.

The researcher also believes that not only in the Philippines, but also in other countries,

photography is evolving in tandem with advances in technology. (Sherman et al. 2016).

1.6 Scopes and Limitations

The researcher aims to show the different types of social classes in modern weddings in

the Philippines through photography. Since the researcher will be conducting a qualitative study,

the researcher will be using a Grounded Theory approach as a way to collect data about the

differences of social classes in the Philippines. The researcher would be able to discover or

construct theory from data through a Descriptive Study approach. The data gathered by the

researcher will be taken as a key instrument. The researcher will also be conducting an online

pre- and post-interview asking what attributes are considered as part of a social class to at least 5

to 10 or higher participants. The researcher will then limit itself to at least 2 photographs that are

photo manipulated per each social class.

CHAPTER 2

LITERATURE REVIEW

2.1 Aesthetics

Some people consider themselves natural modernists, believing that an art photograph

has an aesthetic. The role of aesthetics in art is the subject of a large and complex

literature. (Souter, 2018).

2.1.1 Surrealism

Surrealism was a literary and artistic movement in Paris. (Breton, 1924). He was

particularly intrigued by the notion that the unconscious mind can act as a source of

artistic inspiration. Surrealism sought to alter human experience by rejecting a logical or

direct view of life in favor of one that emphasized the importance of the unconscious and

dreams. Artists had discovered beauty in the unfortunate events through surrealism.

(Mann, 2016).

2.2 Communication

Photographs are a major concern for communication researchers, and their pervasiveness

in today's mediatized culture only adds to their significance. Despite the fact that visual

communication has only been a formal part of the academy since the latter half of the

twentieth century, political, nonverbal, advertising, and newspaper researchers have long

been interested in how audiences process images. (Bock, 2017).

Page 11: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

11

2.2.1 Cognitive Theory

A father who discovered his son's cognitive abilities while working on a project reported

a conversation between the two after the photos were uploaded to the fathers' home

computer. The combination of a photography-based program and the centrality of

educational mediation gave learners independence and control of technology, the ability

to cope with photographic tasks at a complex cognitive level and to experiment in

problem-solving (Friedman, 2016).

2.3 Technology Literatures

There has been a recent advancement in photography technology, as well as various

theories of photography as a diverse practice that not only changes "everything," but also

changes on a regular basis. (Sandbye, 2016).

2.3.1 Semiotic Approach

Semiotics isn't about the ‘real' world at all; it's about complementary or alternative actual

models of it, as well as an infinite number of anthropologically conceivable possible

worlds, as Leibniz believed. As a result, semiotics never reveals what the world is like,

but rather limits what we can learn about it. Roland Barthes used the concept of

semiotics, which was first associated with language, to decipher the meanings and

messages contained in images. He was the first to discuss the "rhetoric of the image," and

he applied Saussure's notions of signifier and signified to the study of advertising images

and photography. (Miotti, 2019).

Page 12: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

12

2.4 Process and Method

As the researcher applies the theories of surrealism, semiotics, and cognitive theory, on

the medium that will be used to be able to create an effective study. The output of photo

manipulating the photographs taken by the researcher of the different types of a social class in a

modern wedding in the Philippines will be used in the form of a photography book to help

contribute to the Philippine Wedding industry and to impart knowledge to couples that a photo

can still be depicted in a quality artwork despite of whichever social class a person is standing.

Page 13: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

AESTHETIC TECHNOLOGY COMMUNICATION

Surrealism

Surrealism is a pioneering and transformative

movement. It has the ability to display fantastical,

imagined worlds that allow the viewer to escape reality.

(The Artling Team, 2020)

The study that are used to help communicate and develop interpretations.

Cognitive Theory lays out a general framework for assessing and altering cognitions in order to change how people think, feel, and act. (Tyron, 2014)

The study is supported by the Surrealism theory

which helps couples to consider dreamlike

wedding photography styles.

Semiotic Theory Cognitive Theory

The theory will be used to help the researcher give more insights or knowledge to

define the differences of a certain social class in modern weddings in the Philippines.

The theory is intended to help the audience to interpret the

symbols that are being signified in the pictures or photos

provided as part of the output

When learners are presented with corresponding words and pictures at the same time,

they are more likely to understand the explanation. (Mayer & Moreno, 1998). To be able to

depict the different types of social classes of a couple in a modern wedding in the Philippines,

the researcher will be using the Semiotic theory which will help identify what part of social class

the image is showing in a modern wedding based on its attributes. Since the researcher will be

photo manipulating the photographs taken, the aesthetics used will be through a Surrealist

approach. As for the Cognitive theory, this theory will be used as a visual stimulus to the

audience that whatever social class a person stands, an image can still be beautiful.

3.2 Conceptual framework

Figure 1.7 Conceptual Frameworks

The process will start from gathering all the information about the different types of

social classes in the Philippines and enough information regarding the Wedding Photography

Industry. The researcher will also study the principles used in photography that will be used for

the medium. The researcher will then look for Sociologists/Sociology students that will help

identify what attributes can be used and can be depicted into the photos. Once enough

information has been gathered regarding the study, the researcher can start with looking for

possible clients or search for possible wedding events that will allow the researcher to use the

photographs taken in the study. Once the photographs have been compiled, the researcher can

start with photo-manipulating the images and then later create it into a photo book. Once the

photobook has been established, the researcher can conduct a Post-Interview to identify its

effectiveness.

METHODOLOGY

4.1 Design and Development

The study that will be conducted will be used as a Grounded Theory as the researcher

collects data from the participants that will be used to interpret the study and was also based on

the collection of actual data and was analyzed through comparative analysis. Grounded Theory

studies the people’s experience with a process and creates a theory of how a study works. The

researcher will only make one online sample output and will create a conclusion with the

gathered data.

The researcher will be using Qualitative Research to be able to ask questions to the

participants by the use of text-based interviews whether what attributes can be used and can be

depicted in a photograph of a certain social class. Text-based online surveys, such as Google

Forms, can be used to generate data instead of face-to-face interviews or focus groups. (Jowett,

2020).

19

The researcher will be conducting descriptive qualitative research as it will ask specific

questions about the output of representing the different types of social classes in a modern

wedding in the Philippines through photography with the use of text-based interviews. The

researcher will also ask about the overall quality and delivery of the images. Specifically,

questions if the photographs taken and photo manipulated were able to inject knowledge about

the different types of social classes in a modern wedding in the Philippines presented by the

researcher.

4.5 Research Instrument

The study will make use of pre-text-based interviews to ask for the effectiveness of the

photographs and its ability to teach information about the different types of social classes in a

modern wedding in the Philippines. During the exhibit, the researcher will then use post-text-

based interviews and post-interviews to the participants if they liked the design and the aesthetics

used in interpreting the photographs in a modern wedding in the Philippines with regards to its

attraction to the audience. The researcher will also ask whether the photographs taken by the

researcher and photo manipulated into Surrealism photography was able to inject knowledge

about the different types of social classes in a modern wedding in the Philippines presented by

the researcher.

4.6 Sampling and Population

As per the sampling, the researcher will be targeting participants that are Sociologists or

Sociology students that will answer the preliminary interviews to be able to identify the attributes

of the different types of social classes in a modern wedding in the Philippines. The researcher

will be using a purposive sampling technique which is a fairly-straightforward method. The

Page 20: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

20

technique occurs when the elements selected for the sample are chosen by the judgment of the

researcher. Researchers believe that by using sound judgment, such as interviews, they can

obtain a representative sample, saving time and money. ( Black, 2010)

The participants of the research will be Sociologists or Sociology Students as they will be

able to understand the differences of an individual's social class in modern weddings in the

Philippines.

4.7 Instrument

The instrument the researcher used for gathering the data are online text-based Pre and

Post Interviews.

4.7.1 Pre - Interview Questions

The researcher used online text-based interviews through Google Forms to Sociology

students and Sociology teachers in order to provide a better balance between those who are still

studying sociology and those that are already considered experts in the field. The participants

were 5-10 people. The use of the pre-interview questionnaire is to identify the attributes or

elements of the different types of social classes so that the researcher can interpret and depict the

elements into Surrealism Photography. The purpose of the pre-test survey is to mainly help the

researcher understand what elements should be used in every Social Class. The gathered data

from the pre-interview questions are used as the basis for the design.

Below are the following pre-interview questions:

1. What elements/attributes are considered part of a Working Class and why?

2. What elements/attributes are considered part of a Middle Class and why?

Page 21: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

21

3. What elements/attributes are considered part of an Upper Class and why?

4. What are your thoughts about Surrealism photography as a medium to inform the public

about the different types of social classes in modern weddings in the Philippines?

5. What do you think are the disadvantages and advantages of Surrealism photography?

4.7.2 Post Interview Questions

The post interview questions are used to identify the satisfaction and effectiveness of the

output to impart knowledge of the different types of Social Classes in a modern wedding in the

Philippines through photography as well as it’s aesthetic. The post-interview questions were

conducted after the researcher presented the finished output through an online photobook.

Below are the following post-interview questions:

1. After seeing the output, what are your thoughts about the different types of social classes

in modern weddings in the Philippines?

2. After seeing the output, do you consider Surrealism photography as a way to show

quality artwork to whichever social class a person is standing? Why?

3. Do you think that the output will help impart knowledge to the wedding community and

to other researchers that will read the study regarding the different types of social classes

in modern weddings in the Philippines?

4.8 Research Participants

The researcher will be gathering information from the participants through a Descriptive

Study approach. The participants of the researcher will be Sociologists or Sociology students

whom the researcher will be getting the data or the information of the attributes of the

differences of social classes in the modern weddings in the Philippines. The researcher will be

Page 22: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

22

gathering information to at least a minimum of five (5) participants or more. It is recommended

that there are only at least six to 12 participants for group interviews or surveys, so that the group

is small enough for all members to talk and share their thoughts (Lasch & Onwuegbuzie, 2010).

4.9 Data Collection Plan

The researcher will be interviewing and conducting a preliminary interview to the

participants to be able to identify the attributes of the differences of a social class in a modern

wedding in the Philippines by the use of the existing photographs in a wedding taken from

Filipino Wedding Photographers. Once the researcher has gathered enough information

regarding the differences of social classes based on the interviews, the researcher can start with

the production of capturing the models and attributes/elements of a certain social class. The

researcher should then analyze the photos and consolidate the pictures that will be used as a

photo book. The post interviews will also be asked to the participants once the output has been

established. The researcher will ask if the participants if the photo manipulated images were able

to interpret that whichever social class a person is standing a wedding can still be beautiful.

4.10 Ethical Consideration

The researcher will need to ask consent from the models to be able to post and present

their photographs that will be used to photo manipulate into one image. Also, the researcher will

ask consent from the models if the images taken can be published in a photo book.

The researcher will also ask permission from the Sociologists/Sociology Students to

release the information that they have given regarding what attributes are considered in a Social

Class. The researcher will not expose the names of the Sociologists/Sociology Students.

5. Introduction

The researcher aims that the output of the research of the different types of a social class

in a modern wedding in the Philippines through photography will be used to help contribute to

the Philippine Wedding industry and to impart knowledge that a photo can still be depicted in a

quality artwork despite of whichever social class a person is standing.

5.1 Preliminary Interview Synthesis

Based on the answer of the participants (which included Sociology students and

teachers/experts), everyone considered that Surrealism Photography is an interesting

concept and can catch any person’s attention when it comes to the wedding industry.

QUESTIONNAIRE SOCIOLOGISTS

What elements/attributes are considered part of a Working Class and why?

1. Tricycle, Jeep, kalesa, bimpo towel, Straw Hat. These are, in ways, the most common things we see on the streets for the "working class".2. Something simple and nature related. Because the working class starts off simple and clean and not too extravagant to save money.

Page 24: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

24

What elements/attributes are considered part of a Middle Class and why?

1. Silver or Gold Watch, they can afford time.2. Location, jewelry, and can afford pre-wedding shoots from fine to well-known studios.3. Mid-tier gadgets, low end/2nd hand cars/motorbikes, mid-tier jewelry/watches. At some points, the rich and middle class does share similar attributes but are usually defined by differences in quality and I guess by brand. Over all details that are just enough and never over the top.

What elements/attributes are considered part of an Upper Class and why?

1. Almost similar with middle class but with extravagance, over the top detail on objects such as gadgets, jewelry, clothing in form of Gold, exotic/rare stones which in turn exudes they are well off and can spare to go above on what is expected.2. Location (luxury hotels, exclusive places, abroad), Clothing (designer clothes), Jewelry (diamonds), studio (well-known) and type of flower used in the wedding.3. Extravagant. Anything with expensive jewellery, branded outfits. Would show out until where their money can buy.

What are your thoughts about Surrealism photography (in order to escape the usual representation of structures and peer into the unconscious aspect of representation) as a medium to inform the public about the different types of social classes in modern weddings in the Philippines?

1. I think it’s an interesting concept, definitely an approach that would catch any person’s attention, while still allowing a viewer to project their own idea and expectations on the event. If executed properly, it should show a quick glimpse, a story on who the wedding couple are, they're life and where they come from.2. I think it’s good since it gives the photographer more freedom in being creative. And to be honest it can show the emotion in a certain event like wedding (given that the photographer is good)3. It’s kind of innovative and catchy especially for visual learners.

Page 26: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

26

What do you think are the disadvantages and advantages of Surrealism photography?

1. I think the disadvantage is some people might not understand what it's about. But the advantage is some people might really want to analyze and understand the photo2. On one hand, surrealism can be a fun way to describe who the couple is, what they are about and who they are in one shot. It’s both playful and creative, and would definitely stand out among other wedding photoshoots.

On the other, not all people are familiar with symbolisms and might not be equipped to interpret/comprehend what they are presented with. Miscommunication may arise on what is meant by the photographer, which in turn may not be received well by the public.3. Disadvantages: some might not understand the concept and the meaning of the photo right away. Advantage: Surrealism photography holds more value, and it ignites the viewers mind regarding every photo. Some would look and ask for the deeper meaning and history of the photo which is a good catch to attract more viewers

6. Final OutputThe following outputs are from the production of capturing the models and

attributes/elements of a certain social class. The researcher then proceeded to analyze the

photos and consolidate the pictures that will be used as a photo book.

6.1. Working Class Image 1

6.2. Working Class Image 2

28

For the image 1 in the Working Class, kalabaw and a farm background was used to

emphasize the elements given by the Sociologist/Sociology students in the preliminary interview

questions. While for the image “Image 2”, a Jeepney was used as an element. The image of the

book was only used for aesthetic purposes. The ray of light was also used to emphasize the

couple and the element used by the researcher.

6.4. Middle Class Image 1

6.5. Middle Class Image 2

29

For image 1 in the Middle Class, most of the participants of the Preliminary interviews

answered that mid-tier jewelry or elements are mostly used by Middle Class people. In such, the

researcher used Silver Rings as an element of the image. The dahon was only used for aesthetic

purposes and also in a way of connecting with nature and the natural environment as well. While

in image 2, a silver spoon was used to differentiate that working classes in the Philippines are

mostly used in using their hands to eat while Mid-tier people in the Philippines prefer to eat

using utensils – a representation that was mainly based on the use of eating preferences that are

typically present between social classes in the society.

6.6. Upper Class Image 1

6.7. Upper Class Image 2

For image 1 in the Upper Class, most of the participants in the Preliminary interviews

answered that rare or expensive jewelry or elements are mostly used by Upper Class people. In

such, the researcher used a Diamond as an element of the image. The water and color blue was

used to symbolize power and royalty. While in image 2, a chess themed background including 2

chess pieces (mainly the queen and king piece) is used as a way to express that the couple

included in the picture or image belongs to a royal blood family and thus was connected with the

application of the principles of aesthetic theory that was based on the presentation of certain

chosen art objects for expression of feelings or status. The idea and element was also based on

31

the Preliminary interviews answered by the Sociologist experts/teachers as well as Sociology

students in which they have mentioned that Upper Class people tend to own or show off certain

luxurious or exotic things that define their lifestyle and capability in life.

5.2 Post Interview Synthesis

Based on the answer of the participants, almost everyone considered that

the output will help impart knowledge to the wedding community and other

researchers that will read the study regarding the different types of Social Classes

in modern weddings in the Philippines. Everyone also agreed that Surrealism

photography can also be a way to show quality artwork to whichever social class

a person is standing.

QUESTIONNAIRE SOCIOLOGISTS

After seeing the output, what

are your thoughts about the

different types of social

classes in modern weddings

in the Philippines?

1. It’s very personal and easy

to catch-on. The way each

photo depicts and

differentiates the types of

social classes in modern

weddings is kind of spot-on.

However, some might think

that it’s not that accurate since

some viewers would be

lowkey and simple.

2. These kinds of executions

can very well be taken

advantage by the lower and

middle classes.

3. Honest opinion, it still

Page 32: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

32

favors the upper class in terms

of facade and aesthetic

After seeing the output, do

you consider Surrealism

photography as a way to

show quality artwork to

whichever social class a

person is standing? Why?

4. Yes, surrealism makes the

distinguishing of class more

obvious and helps with the

message.

5. Yes, because I think it's very

interesting and it makes the

weddings photos even more

memorable.

6. Yes, for sure. Maybe apply

it on other outputs/events

other than weddings and can

be 'stretched' even further

based on one's imagination.

Do you think that the output

will help impart knowledge

to the wedding community

and to other researchers that

will read the study regarding

the different types of social

classes in modern weddings

in the Philippines?

1. Yes, because it could give

other researchers more

photography ideas they can

expand.

2. Definitely. The output has

its meaning and objective to

educate more about social

classes in modern weddings.

However, the symbols that

differentiates or represents

each class might vary

overtime and should be

flexible.

3. Yes, because it shows

creativity and at the same time

Page 33: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

33

imparts knowledge upon the

society the reality and

hardships of weddings and

unions in life.

CHAPTER 6

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

7. ConclusionsThe researcher assumes that imparting knowledge about the different types of social

classes of modern weddings in the Philippines through photography will be an effective

contribution to the society, mainly to wedding photographers and couples in the Philippines.

Based on the post interviews answered by the respondents, the researcher concluded that

Surrealism as an aesthetic in Photography was able to make the research more interesting and

helps impose the values or the norm of couples in the wedding industry that dreamlike photos

can also be considered as a style in Philippine modern weddings to whatever social class a

person is standing.

The methods and instruments used by the researcher such as the Interviews, helped in

finding out what attributes or elements are needed to create the output. With the use of these

Page 34: researchpublish.com · Web viewNo word or even an image is not remembered by history (Cadava, 2018). Modern bridal photographs, which primarily focus on the couple and exclude all

34

methods, the research was able to create an appropriate output that is an improved way of

capturing or depicting wedding photographs.

8. RecommendationsThe following are recommended for furthering the research:

A. Improve how the researcher photographed the images that are taken in

Photoshop

- Giving a more realistic effect

B. Use more elements that can be photo manipulated or combined in one photo.

- To make the image more interesting

C. Further studies about the different types of social classes in the Philippines

- To create a strong research about the different types of Social Classes in

the Philippines
