IDL – Sports weekSPORTS DAY

This week is Sports Week! The staff at Leith Primary have created an at home sports day for you! It is shared on the

Website and on Twitter. You can complete it indoors or outdoors. Please share any pictures on Twitter/OLJs – we hope you

have fun and can’t wait to see your photos 😊 All participants will receive a special

certificate!

Drama In order to help you create your dragon description in this week’s writing task, try to act how being a dragon. You could wear the colours you think your dragon would be. You could use some junk modelling to create wings or a tail. How do you move? How do you sound? How do you act? Use these to help you further with your picture and description.

Expressive Art – Sculpture

Create a sculpture related to a sport. It could be a piece of equipment, the shapes and positions the body needs to make or represent how the sport makes you feel. You could create these sculptures using junk modelling, salt dough, Lego, outdoors using sticks/stones/grass/leaves (remembering to be respectful of nature) or any other material you can think of.

Technology – Your Sports Day!

Design a sports day that you and your family can compete in! 1) Give your sports day a name. It might be linked to your family name/street name/area 2) Decide 4 or 5 sporting activities you what to include in your event. These could be indoors or outdoors. 3) Make a list of any equipment you might need 4) Create medals or certificates to reward the winners 5) Plan some healthy snacks for the participants after the event. 5) Let the games begin!

HWBCreate a poster which explains what tools you have learnt about in Building Resilience that you would use to get through life’s ups and downs. For example, talk it over, take a moment, set a goal, make a difference, keep connected (your back-up team), look on the Brightside.
