+ Celebration of Holy Communion at King of Kings +We believe that Holy Communion is a Sacrament whereby we receive, under the bread and wine, the true Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love others as He forgives and loves us (Matthew 6:15).Our gathering together at Jesus’ table also gives us the opportunity to profess our common faith as one church family (1 Corinthians 10:17). Guests who are members of other LCMS congregations are invited to commune with us. Visitors from other churches, or guests without a church home, are invited to come forward and place your hands over your heart to receive a blessing as you stand with those communing. “God’s Gift for You – for Others!”1 Peter 4: 7 – 11

Today we begin a three-week sermon series entitled “Privileged” which focuses on the flow of blessings that come from the same gracious Lord who has made us His own in Jesus Christ. God carefully and intentionally determines exactly what kinds of gifts He wants us to receive and how such gifts are to be used to His glory and so that others might be blessed. May the Holy Spirit lead us to eagerly recognize God’s gifts to us individually and empower us to faithfully use His gifts to honor Him and touch others.

“Father Welcomes”Father welcomes all His children to His family through His Son.

Father giving His salvation, life forever has been won.Little children, come to me, for My kingdom is of these.

Life and love I have to give, mercy for your sin.Father welcomes all His children to His family through His Son.

Father giving His salvation, life forever has been won.In the water, in the Word, in His promise, be assured:

Those who are baptized and believe, shall be born again.Father welcomes all His children to His family through His Son.

Father giving His salvation, life forever has been won.Let us daily die to sin; let us daily rise with Him.

The Lord’s PrayerALL: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy

kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

We Confess Our Sins and Rejoice in God’s ForgivenessP: Our God is so gracious, so generous, and so loving! And yet we

have sinned against Him with our thoughts, our words, our action and our inaction. We come before Him this morning with repentant hearts, seeking His mercy in the name of our Savior Jesus. We pray together:

C: Gracious God, we confess our sinful nature before You this morning. Forgive us for taking for granted all the times You bless us when we deserve nothing but Your judgment. Forgive us for ignoring Your love and for holding on tightly to the things of this world rather than clinging to You. You have remained faithful to us, even as we betray You by our thoughts and our actions. Help us to not only speak of Your gifts and to serve with Your gifts, but give us the Holy Spirit’s power to offer Your gifts back to You as a sacrifice of gratitude and honor. We pray in the name of Jesus, who gave His life as the ultimate sacrifice. Amen.

P: Dear brothers and sisters, you are no longer servants, but friends of the Lord. You have been chosen by Him to perform

works of service in His name. He has given His very life for your salvation and the forgiveness of all your sins. Receive His forgiveness. In the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ, I, a called and ordained servant of the Lord, announce to you the forgiveness of all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

C: Amen.

We Hear the Word of the Lord

The Psalmist contrasts God’s gracious action to those who delight in

God’s law with God’s wrath towards those who reject His law: Psalm 1

Blessèd is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the

Peter challenges us to use the gifts God gives us to glorify Him and serve others: 1 Peter 4: 7 – 11

7The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 8Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies – in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and

Jesus offers a promise and a warning regarding responding to His gifts:

Matthew 25: 14 – 30 (please rise) (Jesus said,) 14“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. 15To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ 21His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’22And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’ 23His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ 24He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ 26But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful

The Prayer of the Church P: Lord, in Your mercy,C: Hear our prayer.

+ The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper +Prayer of PreparationP: As we gather at Your table, Father, it is truly right to glorify You

and to give You thanks; for You alone are God, living and true, and You alone are worthy of all our praise. You loved the world so much that You sent Your only Son to be our Savior. To fulfill Your purpose He gave Himself up to death; and rising from the grave, destroyed death and made the whole creation new. And so we pray together:

C: We praise You and we bless You, O God! We pray that all who share Christ’s body and blood may rejoice in the forgiveness of sins, the strengthening of faith, and the desire to obey You that is so graciously given in this holy

meal. Thank You, Lord, for Your goodness, Your grace and Your love. Amen.

The Words of InstitutionP: Our Lord Jesus Christ, on the night when He was betrayed, took

bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and gave it to the disciples and said: “Take, eat; this is My body, which is given for you. This do in remembrance of Me.” In the same way also He took the cup after supper, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying: “Drink of it, all of you; this cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” May the peace of the Lord be with you always.

C: And also with you.

Beautiful Lord, Wonderful Savior, I know for sure all of my days are held in Your hand, crafted

into Your perfect plan.Sing this part twice:

You gently call me into Your presence, guiding me by Your Holy Spirit,

Teach me, dear Lord, to live all of my life through Your eyes.I’m captured by Your holy calling;

Set me apart, I know you’re drawing me to Yourself. Lead me, Lord, I pray.

This workshop provides rich information for parents so they are equipped to help their child get a head start on early literacy skills: 1) Begins with an overview of the milestones during the early years, 2) Answers important questions such as: “What should my child be able to do at his/her age,” 3) Gives you techniques to use while reading with your child,. 4) Gives opportunity to practice interactive, hands-on activities you can do with your child at home, 5) Learn tips on how you can observe your child’s learning and 6) Learn how your observations can inform you of your child’s strengths and possible challenges.Hello from Bright Beginner’s Class! Our class has been growing. Mentor Volunteers NeededThe Bridge Ministry is in need of mentors. A vital part of The Bridge Ministry at Prince of Peace is the mentoring program. The mentor program aligns mentors and mentees to work together in order to achieve goals. As you may know, The Bridge Ministry strives to transition people away from dependency to independency based on Christ. Christ is the “bridge”. Key to this goal is to assign a mentor alongside an interested mentee to help them identify needs, establish “SMART” goals, and meet 1 hour weekly in order to achieve these mutually established goals. The Bridge Ministry of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will be having a special Mentor Training seminar on Saturday, November 22nd at 1 pm, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. If you are interested in learning more about the mentoring program please join us on November 22nd at Prince of Peace. Susan Heitner will be presenting information on the topic of “Building Personal Strength: How to Help Others Think for Themselves” along with information about The Bridge Ministry’s Mentor-Mentee Program. If anyone is interested in being a mentor or have questions about mentoring, please give Susan Heitner (513-398-5676) or Julie Mills (513-621-7265) a call.
