In Literacy we will be focusing on writing to inform this term. We will be following a “Hogwarts” theme at the beginning of term by writing a letter, a list of instructions and a poem. Then towards the end of term we will be writing a report about musical instruments and learning to make notes. This term our topic is ‘Cool vibrations.’ This term children will be learning about different musical instruments. As part of this children will go on a ‘journey’ across the globe to discover music from different countries. In doing this the children will be able to discover similarities and differences between human and physical features from these different regions. The children will also make their own musical instruments in DT and learn about Garage Band in ICT. In maths we will be learning all about addition and subtraction word problems; measuring length and perimeter; multiplication and division. The children will be consolidating their learning from last terms work on times tables by learning the division facts. Children will then move on to applying these skills to finding the area of different shapes. Term 2 Newsletter -Year 4 Welcome Back
