Point-of-Care testing department at Tripler Army Medical Center has a departmental webpage for you to access all the quizzes and documents you need for testing at your site. Please see the instructions below for how to get to this webpage via the Intranet. ***Only accessible from a Tripler work computer. Home computers are not able to access the TAMC Intranet.

1. Open Internet Explorer to access the Tripler AMC Intranet.

2. At the Tripler Main Page, click on “Departments” tab at the top of the window.

3. At the Departments page, locate the hyperlink for “Pathology & Lab Services.” Under this link, you find other Lab related services such as Point-of-Care Testing. Click on the link for Point-of-Care Testing to access quizzes, competency assessment links, and documents needed for testing.

4. Familiarize yourself with all the Point-of-Care Testing page has to offer. Notice in the right hand column, POCT contacts are listed for any issues or needs. The first section in the left hand column is the available online quizzes for POCT renewal. All training for Initial competency is offered in person. If you are accessing an online quiz and never have attended a face-to-face training, you are in the WRONG place. Click on the “Precision Xceed Pro Glucometer Quiz” to complete the 6-month renewal quiz.

5. You will be linked to the OTP web-based system for test taking used by Tripler. Enter your social security number for OTP to connect your training to your Army Competency File.

6. The next screen requests your email. This can be your work email or your personal email. Whichever email you prefer to receive the certificate of completion.

7. At the Welcome screen, you will find instructions for completing the test. Not all POCT tests are created equal. Please read the instructions and click the BEGIN… when you are ready.

8. You will come to your first question in the PxP quiz. Notice that you can save for later if you need to. Also, you can come back to a quiz for a certain period of time and still receive credit for work completed. Click on Save for later to see the next screen.

9. At the save screen, you are given a deadline to complete the quiz. Click “OK” to be taken back to the POCT page for other options.

10. Back at the POCT web page, scroll down to see the Reference Ranges, Patient Result Logs, and Maintenance/QC forms. When you need extra forms, please click on the links on this page to print any forms. Unable to find what you are looking for here, just call us and we will email or fax the necessary forms.

11. You have completed the Point-of-Care Web page how-to. Please click the link below to access the first module for iStat Training. After completing all the modules, you will attend the Initial training class to demonstrate your proficiency in hands-on use of the instruments.
