Just like Mr & Mrs Claus, you will help to deliver Christmas to everybody in the UK! Flexible and adaptable at all times, you will be doing a very important job. You’ll be helping us unload mail and parcels from our vans, moving them around our warehouses and then sorting them so they arrive at their destination safely – sometimes sorting over a million items in a single shift with your team!

Our Wishlist for Mail Sorters

•You enjoy working to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment Being proactive and detailed focused is key

•You are flexible and adaptable to work on various tasks during a shift.Pushing trolleys (up to 250kgs) and standing for long periods is comfortable for you

•No previous experience is needed - don’t worry, we love new people - If you do have experience in warehouse or sorting work, with the likes of Amazon or another distribution company, then you are definitely on our wishlist too.

Next Stepsn-On your application, we will ask you which shift you would prefer. You will be able to pick from Earlies, Lates, Nights and Weekends, but please only select a shift pattern detailed above or we might not be able to progress your application.

Just to let you know, we are not able to guarantee your preferred shift as shifts are offered on a first come first serve basis, and shift times may change depending of the amount of mail going through our centres.

If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend one of our Registration Events where we will collect some further information from you, and you will be able to discuss your shift preference. These events get fully booked quickly, so make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.

Jobcentre Plus and Release Potential are working in partnership to help older benefit claimants (aged 40+) get closer to the labour Market.

National Employer and Partnership Team and Fuller Working Lives (FWL) have linked up with a BBC accredited training providers to develop an inspiring programme of condensed activity that builds confidence, team working and skills to better equip an individual to enter the workplace.

The Returneeship is a new 4 week pre-employment training programme, inspired by BBC content and designed to focus on the employability skills of the older claimant.

• 2 days on a special Project (Tuesday 29th Wednesday 30th October)

• 2 weeks based in the classroom (Thursday 31st October –Tuesday 12th November)

• Presentation day – Wednesday 13th November

• 2 Weeks Work experience placement starting Week Commencing 18th and 25th November

Sheffield Safe Places Various locations throughout SheffieldThe Safe Places scheme is a network of businesses and organisations that will assist anybody who goes to them for help.

The scheme provides adults, particularly people with learning disabilities, mental health issues and dementia, with assistance and a safe space to be if they are feeling scared, upset or bullied if out on their own.

The scheme provides reassurance to people and to their families and careers, that there is a means of support for them in the community. The support helps to minimise or remove the risks and a means to report crimes with or on behalf of the adult if necessary.
