How to retrieve your Google Drive
Go to www.google.com
And sign in
Once signed in, your initials should appear
Click on the Google apps icon
Select Google Drive
Below are the steps to create folders and share them. Note that in our course, you will need to share some folders with your teammates!
Creating a folder.
Would you be able to create a folder on your own? Let’s check! Please create the folder Evaluations included within the folder RM.Make sure that you first click on the RM folder so to tell Google Drive that this new folder should be part of the RM one. Then, you can click on
- New- Folder (please name it Research Notes - Literature Review)
Make sure you are in My Drive, then, click on NEW
Click on Folder It will ask you to name ite.g. RM
As evaluations will be completed in teams, you will share this folder with your teammates. Here are the steps to do so.
Right click on the folder you would like to share e.g. Evaluations
Then, click on Share
A pop up will appear.
Enter all your teammates’ emails.
Make sure to select:Can organize, add, & edit
Click on Send. Your teammates will receive an invitation in their email.
So please, check your emails!
Let’s now learn how to upload a folder or a file.
For example, let’s upload the file Lectures and readings that can be found on your student drive
Click on NEW
You may choose to upload a file (a document) or a whole folder.
Note: an empty folder cannot be uploaded (it must contain at least one document in it, in order to proceed with the upload)
Once you have clicked on NEW, then on Folder upload
A pop up will appear
Select this PC Note: for me, it’s called Computer
Then select your student drive with the letter (H:)Note: you should see your student number. Since I’m a teacher, I see my name SDesRosiers
Select the folder RM
Select, for example, the folder Lectures and readings
Click on OK
