The Kostis Palamas University Club building is located in the centre of Athens close to the first University of Athens building (Propylaia). It was built in 1857 to house a private school and was bought by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1870 to cover the needs of the Medical and Natural Sciences Laboratories. In 2004 it was renovated to be used as a club hosting cultural and academic events and as a meeting place for University employees.

The meeting is organized by the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development of the National Observatory of Athens (www.noa.gr; www.meteo.noa.gr). IERSD/NOA is located in northeastern suburbs of Athens, Penteli.

From Athens International Airport to Athens Centre :

The best way to go from the Athens International Airport to the city centre is by the Metro. There is a train station located at the airport, easy to find from the arrival section. Connection to the main city locations is done via Metro Line 3 “Athens International Airport – Aghia Marina” or via the suburban rail by using Doukissis Plakentias station as an interchange for Line 3. The cost of a one-way ticket from the airport is 10€. The travel time from the Athens International Airport to the city centre (Syntagma station – Metro Line 3) is approximately 40 minutes. Train services from the airport to the centre operate every 15 minutes approximately.

The Technical Meeting venue is a 10 minute walk from Syntagma station or a 5 minute walk from the Panepistimio Station (Metro Line 2, change at Syntagma station for Line 2).
