Call for Volunteers: Transcription
The UK Training team is looking for a volunteer to produce
verbatim scripts from recorded online training sessions conducted
by a trainer. This will involve transcribing potentially 6 hours of
listening material per product. The scripts will enable the UK
training team to efficiently produce a narrative for each
presentation from the script produce by the volunteer scriber.
There is the potential opportunity to develop those scripts by
conflating this into a final narrative. The involvement of this
latter stage will based on the availability and experience of
volunteer.
Hours:
· Flexible – the recording does not make these tasks dependent
on a set time.
· Must be able to commit to transcribing 3 scripts per product
(average 6 hours of content). As it takes 4 hours to transcribe 1
hour of content this would mean a 24-hour commitment.
· Minimum of 4 hours a week commitment for 6 weeks.
Volunteer Person Specification:
1. Have a demonstrable passion for the work done by Hope for
Justice
2. Have good communication skills
3. Be inquisitive, be able to ask questions for clarification
where necessary
4. Have experience transcribing live presentations and/or
meetings, or experience transcribing recorded content
5. Confident using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Microsoft
Teams
