Learning Outcome:
To understand how to calculate the mean, median, mode and range from a A set of given data.
Learning Task:
Data: pupils to understand the different ways of calculating the mean, median, mode and range.
Understanding and calculating values.
Mean – average – add all values and divide by the amount of numbers.Median – middle value – Put the numbers in order and finder the middle value.Mode – Most – the number which appears most frequently.Range – distance – the difference between the largest and smallest value in the data.
Maths watch clips: S6, S7
Pupils to watch the video, complete the worked examples, then attempt the online questions which will be marked in the programme.
Extension:
Click the worksheet tab then write the questions down on a piece of paper and complete the questions.
