Dear Parent of Grade I – VIII, Assignment will be conducted subject wise separately for Term-1 and Term -2 as mentioned in the Student Diary. Assignment work is an assessed formative activity at school for which children are marked and the score will be recorded in the Achievement Card and hence it is mandatory for every student.

Assignment work should be child’s work and the content needs to be handwritten / manuscripted. Avoid using readymade chart instead encourage the children to collect pictures from old magazines / newspapers. Kindly note parent work is not acceptable and the child will be awarded zero.

Weare happy to inform you that “OLYMPIAD” examination will be held as a regular practice even in the school year of 2019- 20. We have taken this initiative because of the encouraging results achieved by our students last year. We found that the exposure to such tests helped our students in gaining confidence and proficiency in the subjects. We are furnishing the relevant information regarding the examination and request you to encourage your child to be part of it.

International and National Olympiad examinationsis being conducted by Silver Zone Foundation and SOF (Science Olympiad Foundation).

School’s Role The school will be a link between the organization and the children. The school will not take up any extra classes or practice for the Olympiad

Test. It will be the responsibility of the parents to prepare the child for the test, if you feel the need. In case of any doubt and clarifications the child may contact the respective subject teachers.

How to Prepare Your Child For School After The Long Summer

Vacation!

The 45 days long vacations are finally coming to an end. Few things that all

parent should started doing before the children get back to school:

1. Prepare the children mentally : Tell the childgently that its soon going to

be time for them to get back to their routine. Share stories of how you missed

school when you were on holidays.

2. Re schedule routine: Start rescheduling your child's sleep & nap time

around the school hours.

3. Get back to books: It’s time to revisit the school bag which have been kept

somewhere in the drawer. The more the child gets connected to the belongings

used during school, the more prepared the child will be.

4.Shop for school stationery items: If the old lunch box, water bottle , pencil

box, school bag has worn out, go on a shopping spree with your child and make

the most of the remaining holidays. It will be one way to get the child excited

for getting back to school.

5. Prepare a travelogue: If you have been lucky to go on a trip help your child

prepare a travelogue to carry to school and share the memories with teachers

&friends. Even if you did not go out of town, you can make a summer vacation

booklet with your child.

6. Prepare a lunch table : Prepare the snacks and lunch timetable. Divide the

table into days & dates.

At Greenfield, ‘Children’s Day Out’ is about new experiences, enthusiasm and adventure. For our students, the school has organized a fun filled picnic to “Rail Museum - ICF”, on Saturday, 31st August 2019

Objectives of picnic:

To give the experience of travelling in a group in order to enhance the social and

emotional skills.

To give real – world experience and to increase the curiosity.

To motivate students to have bond with nature.

Students need to carry their own dry snacks, water bottle, a napkin, a cap, one set of spare clothes, and a plastic bag. If your ward is having motion sickness, please give him/her medicine in advance. All students of Pre KG, LKG and UKG are expected to come in their Games Uniform and comfortable sandals/ Shoes. Attendance is compulsory for the day. Parents have to drop and pick their children from school.

Government of Tamil Nadu has issued de worming tablets to all the students of the various schools across the city, on account of the National Deworming Day.

School is issuing one chewable tablet to each child, to be given after dinner. The tablets are chewable, and therefore not necessary to swallow with water.

For the past two weeks Woodstock Montessori children at school are working on the theme - FUN NOT FUSS WITH FOOD.
