Email and Google Classroom AccessYour school email address can be accessed as follows:

USERNAME@pupil.caldew.sch.uk

Your Google Classroom email address can be accessed as follows:

USERNAME@caldewonline.com

Google Classroom comes with its own Drive (like a pen drive) which will give you access to their Word, Excel and PowerPoint. These work on both PC/Mac or tablets. (See below for how to access it)

It will also allow you to save documents to your Google Drive.

Two important web addresses are

Classroom.google.com

Drive.google.com

If you have forgotten your USERNAME then this is how you can access it:

The last two digits of the year you started school (eg year 7 started in 2019 so it will be 19)

Your surname

Your first initial

For example, 18SmithJ

Year Groups started in the following years:

Year 7 – 19 Year 8 – 18 Year 9 - 17

Year 10 – 16 Year 11 - 15

Year 12 – 14 Year 13 - 13

Using Google DriveGoogle Drive gives you access to a version of Word, PowerPoint and Excel from google. These come free with your Caldew Online account at school

To get access you need to type this exact address into a web browser:

drive.google.com

You will be asked to log in. Just use your google classroom account:

Eg: 18SmithJ@caldewonline.com

This account is the same that you use to log in at school, your year started at Caldew, your surname and then your first initial. Followed by @caldewonline.com

You may be asked to enter your location as you are logging in from a new place. There is an error here with google and the town is apparently Cumbria.

Once on you will see a window that shows any work that you save and folders, just like a pen drive. You probably have a folder there called “Classroom” this is all the work you have made on google classroom in ICT and other subjects.

You can make new documents here by clicking :

Then choose the type of file that you want.

This will automatically be saved into your google drive folder so you can hand it in when you get back to school, or you can hand in work using Google Classroom.

Using Google ClassroomIf you are set work using google classroom follow these steps

Go to the website:

classroom.google.com

You will then be asked to sign in if you haven’t done so before.

You will then see your work within the classes as you normally have done in school.

Accessing Google Classroom EmailGoogle classroom also comes with access email:

USERNAME@caldewonline.com

Type in the following address

https://mail.google.com/

You will then be asked to sign in if you haven’t done so before.

You will then have access to your caldewonline email account.

Accessing Microsoft School EmailTo access school email:

USERNAME@pupil.caldew.sch.uk

From the school website choose Log IN.

Scroll down and click the mail link.

You will then be asked to enter your school email account this way.
