Extra Credit Journal 1 : A Much Needed Vacation

It’s the summer of 1893 and you are now 23 years old. You have saved enough money to take a well-deserved vacation. You have decided to travel to Chicago, Illinois to be one of the 26 million visitors to the World’s Columbian Exposition, AKA the Chicago World’s Fair.

Questions for Entry 1:

1. Who are you taking with you?2. How are you getting there? 3. Include your “ticket” with your entry (Google

“Chicago World’s Fair ticket” and you’ll find plenty of examples.) Drawn copies of tickets wouldn’t get you into the fair, and they won’t get you points on the assignment.

Questions for Entry 2:

1. What are your experiences while you visit the fair? 2. What new inventions do you get to see? 3. What exhibits did you enjoy seeing most? 4. What new foods do you get try for the first time? 5. Are there any attractions that had you “sitting on the edge of your seat?” 6. This paragraph should be at least two paragraphs long and should include at least two

photographs (not drawn pictures)
