ne of the strongest evidences that our Bible was written with Divine direction is its unity. Though

extremely different, it’s 66 sections all have one dominate purpose.

OSome are poetry, others prose (in order). Some are historical, others prophetical. Some are missionary reports; others are church letters or personal correspondence. Yet all speak of the same God; all uplift the same standers of righteousness.

All point to the same plan of salvation. And all look forward to the same day of Divine judgment and eternal reward. None contradicts the other. The could not have just happened.

Contradicts: The opposite of a statement made by someone

An amazing difference lies between the Bible and all other books. Authors may pray for God’s help and guidance-and God does help and guide. Certainly many good books in the world have been written with the author depending upon God’s help. Still, even the most saintly of writers would hardly attempt to claim for his book, “God wrote it!”

Both the Old and New Testament writers claimed to be writing the very World of God. Expressions are use, such as: “God said,” “The Lord spake saying, “The Lord Commanded,” “The word of the Lord comes unto me,” “These phrases appear more than 3,800 times throughout the pages of the Bible!

Look at the beginning verse of some of the chapters in Leviticus. The book of Jeremiah contains the expression, “Thus saith the Lord,” nearly one hundred times. The Book of Malachi contains the statement, “saith the Lord,” twenty-five times.

Fine three similar statements claiming the writer’s words to be God’s words from the three books mentioned above. Write out the expression and reference.

Many New Testament writings were in the fom of letters, which naturally would lack the from of the Old Testament prophet with his, “Thus saith the Lord.” Yet they, too, testified that their writings were indeed the words of God.

What did Paul say about his writings being from God?

“if any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are ______________________________________________________________“. I Corinthians 14:37

In Revelation 1:2 John called his writings the “record of _______________________________And of the ___________________________________.”

They All Agree: “It’s True!” Thus, the bible is either what the writers claim it is – God’s Word to man – or these writers were deceitful. There can be no middle ground concerning the inspiration of Scripture. Either it is God’s World or its only man’s word.
