I entered the New Year skyping Melissa which was an awesome way to start 2014. I have incredibly high expectations for this year, it really is the greatest time in history to be alive. I have a lot of trips to go on in the first 6 months and then a new season of my life begins. I am excited to see what plans God has in store for me when I get home. I entered a new season on the 1st of January of even deeper intimacy with Jesus and a passion to pursue him. The first 2 weeks were spent in my secret place with him and the rest of January I have been travelling. At the end of Jan there was also a 4 day healing conference by Randy Clark which was awesome, we saw many amazing miracles taking place and people being touched by the love and power of God.

There was a really interesting session on the difference between Raeke, therapeutic touch, healing touch and Christian Healing. It is scary how influential these types of energy healing have become and even infiltrated the church, these are counterfeits of the truth, they are influenced by the devil and are not based in Christianity. We are dependent on Jesus he is the only true way people can get healed.

I also got back from my latest trip from San Diego and the next morning went to my 3rd year intern meeting, they announced that they had randomly selected 3 people from the class to preach for 5-6 mins on how the class could get the most of the rest of the year. I was one of the three chosen to preach and had 10 mins to prepare, God is incredibly faithful and downloaded a bunch of things to tell the class and I think that it went really well. It was an honour to share with a bunch of revivalists at Bethel.

Latest Trips

My first trip in January was to Mammoth, we ended up staying an extra day on the trip, the guys all stayed with Chris in a really nice cabin with a fireplace and a hot tub. We went skiing the first day which was so beautiful then we preached at night. One of my favourite miracles of the year took place that night. I got to pray for a lady who contracted Polio when she was 16 months old and it destroyed her right foot to the point she has now had 8 operations on her foot because it constantly turned over. She had over 500 scars where they had sliced everything, all her nerves were cut during the operations and she has never had feeling in her foot since her first operation at age 5. She has also been in chronic pain her entire life and was about to have her foot amputated. Instantly after prayer she burst into tears and said all the pain had disappeared, then she took her sock off and I tickled her foot and for the first time in 50 years she could feel me touching her foot, she went outside and went for a jog in the car park. She said "Jason I don't know what I'm going to do, I don't know how to live life without pain." She had a radical encounter with the love of God. She is going to cancel the surgery on her foot because the great physician has taken care of it. Glory to God!!! What was probably more impacting for me than the miracle itself was the lies that she had been told and believed her entire life. We had the privilege to release truth to her and set her free, someone had told her that God had made her this way because if she got healed she would be full of herself and live in pride. She had also been told that this was her thorn in the flesh that she needed to live with. (Pauls thorn was NEVER sickness or disease it was PERSECUTION). All of her hope had been taken away and told she would never be healed and so this was the first time she had been prayed for and God healed her. She thought that if God wanted her sick she would go against his will to get prayer, that would be true

except for the fact that God NEVER wants anyone to be sick and JESUS healed ALL that came to him. It broke my heart to find out the bondage that this lady had been in her entire life and an honor to watch the love of God set her free.

These are a couple of photos from Mammoth above, beautiful views, beautiful runs and a gorgeous hot tub. The next day we got a chance to watch some of the practice session of the snowboarders for the Olympic trials up on the mountain before doing some teaching at the school and the last day we spent the entire day skiing again. A friend that we met in New Zealand in November who is a ski instructor at the mountain got us discounts and took us out for the day, we had a great time, he taught us how to do some jumps and ski backwards, no broken bones but a couple of crashes meant for an exciting day. Each day ended in an amazing hot tub, one night we were there and a girl came in and we started chatting, she began asking some very interesting questions and I spent an hour and a half sharing the gospel with her and answering questions. I prayed for her and blessed her before she left and gave her some ways to encounter God in her own time. The seed has been planted and the plough is on the way.

I arrived home and left the next morning for Oregon with Josh Stevens and the team, I absolutely loved the team I was with they were incredible. We went to a house church with huge influence in the area, there were maybe 50 or so people at each meeting and we did meetings all day for 2 days and the night we arrived. We also stayed an extra day on this trip just to check out the area and have some fun. We got to stay in a really nice resort with Josh although we were never really there. The conference was on cultivating the presence and it was great to get to experience watching Josh operate in words of knowledge and people getting healed just in the presence of God without anyone physically laying hands on them. I prophesied over a few people, called out words of knowledge and got to share some testimonies during the meetings. I received some very powerful words and made some great connections on this trip as well. Josh called out a word for someone with intense back pain and he pointed to the spot in his back. A man stood up and said he was scheduled for surgery on his back because he had such bad pain for the past few years, when he stood up all the pain was instantly gone and he could never find the pain again for the rest of the weekend, he cancelled his surgery. The next day he brought a friend, Josh called out a word to do with the neck and shoulder, this guy stood up and was healed instantly, then Josh got about another 4 words of knowledge for him and each time he called something out the guy got healed. There was a small group of them and each one got radically touched by God that weekend and changed forever.

We had a chance on our extra day to check out the mountains and do a little sight seeing, we went into the town and walked the streets and had a hot chocolate, above you see Josh and I sharing with a guy that we asked to take our team photo, I got to prophesy over him and bless him. We went for a great walk around a lake that you can see just above it was an awesome day. Then I was home for 2 days and left for a 12 hour drive down to San Diego with a large team this time, we took down 12 extra people, second years and other interns.

This was so much fun, the students were so hungry and I loved answering there questions and having great discussion times. We stayed in a great hotel with another hot tub. We were super busy, we managed to make it to the beach twice for about an hour during breaks but we ministered the Friday night and then all day Sat and did 4 services on Sunday then left Monday morning. We saw hundreds of miracles and 34 people gave their lives to Christ. My favourite things from the trip were: Saturday I went to have a hot tub during the break, there was a lady there with her 2 kids and I began talking with her, she was from Switzerland and living in Santa Monica. We started chatting and it moved to why I was there and I began sharing with her what I did and some testimonies of people being healed. I started sharing the gospel of what Jesus had done for her and why. I shared my heart with her; I wasn’t interested in debating her into religion but demonstrating the love and power of God and bringing her into a relationship with a loving father. I asked her if she had any pain in her body because Jesus wanted to take it away, she paused and said that she had heaps of pain in her left big toe because she had kicked it and had been to the doctor that morning for antibiotics. She said “would God want to heal my toe?” I said “yes”, so she put her toe on my seat and I grabbed her toe and began praying for her. About 10 seconds later I asked her what was happening, she had a shocked look on her face and said that when I took my hands off her toe she felt a release and the pain diminished, she then said you’ll probably think this is weird but I feel a warmth in my toe (we are in a hot tub at 40 degrees Celsius and she is feeling a warmth in her toe) I told her that was the love of God and he was showing her how real he is. I prayed again and all the pain disappeared. She told me later if she hadn’t been healed she would have been out of there in a second, however because she was healed she knew that God was real. I asked her if she had ever received Jesus Christ into her life, she said “no”, I said “would you like to?”, she said “Yes”, then I explained some more about Jesus and what a relationship with him looks like and she gave her life to Christ.A man had severe neck pain since 1991 when he had messed up his neck, I prayed a couple of times and it seemed like nothing happened, then he looked at me and his face changed, he said that when he looked at

me the last time he felt a pop in his neck and then everything move back into place and all the pain disappeared completely, I saw him the next day and he was still completely pain free. We had a man who had constant severe pain in his head 24/7 for the last 12 years, it was so bad he had got addicted to herion to try and numb the pain and it did nothing, when he was prayed for all the pain disappeared for the first time, he also rededicated his life to Christ. We had one lady that was born deaf in her left ear get 80% hearing back and another man was totally deaf in his left ear and it opened up completely after 20 years.

Healing RoomsA man came to my team and instantly you knew he had some serious problems, his main problem was that his focus was totally on his problems. He began telling us about everything and we began refocussing his attention onto Jesus, he was deaf in his right ear, had vision problems from diabetes, organ problems which needed transplants, a sore back and a pullop in his nose that caused problems breathing, there may have been more but that’s what I can remember. We prayed for his ear first and asked if anything was happening, he said yes I can hear a little bit, he was still too focussed on his problems and so we spent some more time telling him to start thanking God for what he was doing in his body. He started getting hit by waves of the Holy Spirit and could hardly stand up, he felt fire going through his belly and all through his whole body. His deaf ear opened up and with his eyes closed he could repeat what I was saying a few meters away in a very noisy room, his nose cleared up and he could breathe again, his vision got better as we tested it, all the pain disappeared from his back and he encountered the love and power of God. He was a completely different person by the end of the prayer finally his eyes were back on Jesus and he saw him for the big God that he is. We had him release his testimony to the room and 2 more deaf ears opened up at the release of the testimony. That day we also had 8 Salvations, my team saw a man with a torn rotator cuff have the pain leave, meniscus pain left in a person’s knee and a sore throat got better. The next week a lady came in who was a Quadraplegic, she couldn’t move anything from the neck down, after prayer she was able to move her legs up and down by herself and also move her arms a little, we were able to stand her up and she could hold herself up with her legs. We are continuing to pray for total healing.

A Thought for the MonthI’d like to talk about a topic that is a little controversial but I have had a revelation on this recently and I think it is very much misunderstood and undervalued in the church as a whole these days. The last couple of months I have had a revelation on the power of speaking in tongues, how it is such an incredibly powerful weapon for the believer but also WHY we should pray in tongues. I think the devil has tried very hard to keep this gift from manifesting in much of the church because he knows how powerful it really is for believers. I only want to talk about our personal prayer language which everyone can be given. Firstly tongues is a free gift that comes from the Holy Spirit, all we do is ask and receive the gift. But WHY should we pray in tongues? This is the question that I have never really understood until now.

Let me propose it to you this way. The Holy Spirit has always existed, he was there before the foundation of the world, he watched as you were formed in your mother’s womb, he heard God’s plans for your life, who he created you to be, your destiny, your identity, the plans and purposes of your life. Now imagine you could have a prayer partner everyday of your life that knew everything about your life including your future, who you were created to be and what you are created to accomplish, the perfect plans of your life. Now imagine that you knew that every single word that your prayer partner prayed was in perfect alignment with God’s will for your life and every word that he prayed would be heard by God and answered. And all you had to do in the equation was to surrender your will to his and agree to allow him to pray through you, would you not want to align yourself with this prayer partner and allow him to pray for you more than you pray for yourself?

This is the power of speaking in tongues, you have free will, that means that for you to partner with the Holy Spirit you actually need to surrender your will to him and come into agreement. When you do the Holy Spirit will actually pray through your spirit the perfect will of God for your life, he will pray and declare your destiny over your life, he will pray mysteries over your life. He is the perfect prayer partner, when I had this revelation of what praying in tongues actually is I got excited to pray in tongues. Why wouldn’t I want to partner with the Holy Spirit. I also found that as you pray the Holy Spirit begins to download revelation directly into YOUR spirit and you begin to understand scriptures that never made sense. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:18 “I thank God that I pray in tongues more than all of you.” He walked in more revelation than anyone else in scripture apart from Jesus.

Jude 1:20-21 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God.” Tongues also builds faith and keeps you in the love of God, why? In my personal experience when I am praying in tongues it makes me aware that God is in me and with me always, I am consciously aware of his love and presence which keeps me in his love and builds faith. The more confident you are that God is with you and loves you the more faith arises. There is a lot more I could say so I’m going to stop there, I would encourage you, have an open heart, consider spending more time allowing the Holy Spirit to pray through you this month and see what happens. If you don’t have your prayer language ask him to give it to you, he is a good Dad and loves to give gifts to his kids it’s as simple as asking.

Next Trips

This month I will be going to Texas/Kansas from the 6th-12th of February, we will be doing a healing conference to the healing rooms workers of a 50,000 person church then doing a conference in another church in Wichita. Then flying to Ohio from the 20th-27th of Feb with Chuck Parry the executive director of the healing rooms to do a conference over there and speak in a ministry school. I’ll then be staying an extra couple of days in an armish village with a friend to check out the area.
