MRS. STRAUGHAN’S STEM DISCLOSURE

Course Description: STEM-science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM will cover a variety of topics and be tailored based on individual student interests. Students will be polled to determine the most popular classes to offer. Some of the choices include design and animation, 3D printing and design, digital artist, web development, Lego robotics, Minecraft steam foundations, programing, sound and audio mixing, etc. The purpose of stem is to allow students to use their creatively to design and create. The courses were designed by Tech Trep and have stem skills embedded into each of the 17 courses offered.

The Stem class is a personalized learning platform and grading will be done using a Pass/Fail model. Students will need to demonstrate productivity in class in order to earn the passing grade. Productivity doesn’t mean projects will always work out perfectly instead it means students are working towards learning, revising, and moving forward.

Grading Policy

• Computer- charged and ready to go!

• Earbuds or headphones (dollar store ones work fine).
