Hello Grade 3! Let’s get started with meeting our new friend shall we? There are different kinds of emotions that a person feels right? Isn’t it nice to express one’s feelings to others? One way of doing that is through writing. Like us, sentences also have different emotions. We have different kinds of sentences like: Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, Exclamatory. You may read about them on pages 312-347 of your English Language Power book.

Directions: On a short bond paper, create a comic strip about saving the environment. Make sure to use different kinds of sentences in your comics and identify what kind it belongs.

Lesson: Melodic Lines

Melody is a tune, voice or line in a song. It contains a series of musical tones which is called musical lines.

Musical lines of notes which are written on the staff. The staff is the house of the notes, wherein you place the notes. A staff has five lines and four spaces. Each line and space of the staff has an equivalent letter name which is derived from the first seven letters of the English alphabet.

In this staff, the letter names of the lines are E, G, B, D, F which can be easily memorized by the code, Every Good Boy Does Fine. The letter names of the spaces include the letters F, A, C, E.

Activity 1

A. Practice how to draw the G-clef. Trace the broken lines.

Draw five G-clefs on the staff.

B. Create a word using the letter names of the lines and spaces.

Identify the letter names ot the notes on each staff.

Activity 2 (For those who have a MAPEH book, you can answer Check Up page 30.)

A. Write the corresponding letter of each line or space under each note. Each measure spells a word.

B. Draw the notes on the correct lines or spaces. Use whole notes.
