Have a look at this picture as a way to introduce the words longer, shorter, taller, further, nearer. I have also added the PowerPoint which focuses on different parts of the picture and I have added the suggested questions you can ask.

I will attach this to the Tapestry and blog post as well. This is also a good video to help them learn the names and sounds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGJlYLTL2fM&list=PLSf41c0hSLO64UHP8S_CAVVtMOTJt1oTb&index=7

Have a look at the picture below. What can you see in this picture? Where do you think you can find this place? How would we get there? Is it a distant and an undiscovered planet in space? What would this planet be called? Would you like to live there? Do you have any questions about this place?

Maths Recap yesterday’s learning and go over the words that were introduce to describe length, height and distance. Go on a hunt around the house and find a few different things. Put all of the items together and have a look at which one is longer and shorter? Use a non-standard unit of measure (something that can be consistently used to measure that is the same size) like cubes, paper clips, counters, buttons etc. to measure the items and see which one is longer and shorter . Can you order them from the longest to the shortest?
