HEADCORN – was officially consecrated on Tuesday 25th June 1990! HAPPY 29th ANNIVERSARY.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION – Please pray for James, who is making his First Holy Communion at Headcorn this Sunday, Corpus Christi.

BOOK CLUB – “The House of Spirits”, by Isobel Allende, is a densely packed tale of three generations of the Trueba family, involving Magical Realism, and set against the political struggles of post-colonial Chile. It is beautifully written, but a challenging read because it includes so much detail, some of which is quite harrowing. For our next book, we turn to India, and have chosen “The White Tiger”, by Aravind Adiga. We will meet to discuss this at Sue’s house on Wednesday 17th July at 2.30pm. Enquiries to Sue on 01580 852478.

NEW PILGRIM PATH WEBSITE – just over 20 years ago, two Irish Jesuits in Leeson Street started a website as a Lenten experiment in offering guided prayer online. The experiment extended far beyond Lent, going from strength to strength. Today, the global phenomenon that is “Sacred Space” attracts 18,000 visitors a day, of all Christian faiths and from around the globe, praying at their computers, on their laptops, tablets or smartphones, in 22 languages. The site guides the visitor through a session of prayer in six stages , including preparing your body and mind, and culminating in reflection on a scripture passage chosen specially for the day. This is a wonderful use of the internet and can be visited at www.NewPilgrimPath.ie

CHURCH SOUND SYSTEM – When we decided to go ahead with the new sound system we thought it might take at least a year to pay off. Thanks to your generosity we have paid off ¾, THANK YOU. So, one final push?

………………………………….£3020.94………………………….. £4400

JOBS VACANT! – Could you help with the running of the Church and Parish? Too many jobs are done by too few people and we are not getting any younger! Ideally it would be good if we had volunteers to join with the existing people and thus reduce the work load. Childrens liturgy; choir; Finance committee; maintenance; readers; assistance with running the Parish office; ecumenism; social and fund raising; newsletter; etc. Many hands make light work! Speak to me if you have something to offer. THANK YOU FOR THE OFFERS SO FAR.

PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK – 26th August 2019. See poster at the back of the church for details.
