PROPERS FOR LITURGY OF ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM
Tropar of the Resurrection, Tone 1When the stone had been sealed by the Jews, while the soldiers were guarding Your Most Pure Body, You arose on the third day, Savior, granting life to the world. Therefore, the Powers of Heaven cried toYou, Giver of Life; Glory to Your Resurrection, Christ. Glory to Your Kingdom. Glory to Your Divine Plan, only Lover of Mankind.
Tropar to St. John Chrysostom, Tone 8Grace shining forth from your mouth like a beacon has enlightened the universe, disclosing to the world treasures of generosity and showing us the height of humility. Since you instruct us by your words, Father John Chrysostom, intercede with Christ God, the Word Himself, to save our souls.
Kondak of the Resurrection, Tone 1As God, You arose from the tomb in glory, raising the world with Yourself. Human nature praises You as God, for death has vanished. Adam exults, Master. Eve, freed from bondage, rejoices and cries out: “You Christ, are the Giver of Resurrection to all.”
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Kondak of the Saint, Tone 6From heaven you received divine grace and by your lips you teach all to worship the God in Trinity, All blessed and Venerable John Chrysostom. Worthily do we extol you, for you are an instructor who reveals things divine.
Now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Kondak of Publican and Pharisee, Tone 4Let us flee from the proud boasting of the Pharisee and learn the humility of the Publican. With groaning let us cry out to the Savior: Be merciful to us, for You alone are always ready to forgive.
Prokimen of the Resurrection, Tone 1 Let Your mercy, Lord be upon us as we have put our hope in You.
Verse: Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous. Praise befits the upright.
Alleluia Verses in Tone 1 God gives me retribution and has subdued peoples under me.
He magnifies the salvation of the king and deals mercifully for His anointed, for David and for his seed forever.
Communion Hymn:Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the Highest. The Righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of any evil report. Alleluia (3X)
